It had the feel of a historic inn and was very charming.

The facilities inside are old and covered with blankets, which I have never seen before.

This is my fourth time here. The atmosphere and food at Tamonkan are both excellent. I wanted to stay for two nights, but unfortunately it was busy and I could only book for one night. If possible, I would like to come back again before the end of the year.

出羽三山巡りにあたって利用させて頂きました。当方ノープランの急な旅だった為、予約無しで伺いましたが、ご主人が快く受け入れて下さりました（宿坊では予約が無いと厳しいと断られました）。下調べが浅かったため、今回は羽黒山のみの参拝となりましたが、三山を巡ったような体験が出来る博物館を紹介してくださったり、次回の旅の参考になる情報を教えてもらいました。建物についてですが、昔ながらの旅館といった感じでとても味があって◎です。はじめて来たはずの所なのに、こんなに「居心地が良いな」と感じた事を不思議に思います。また、他の方も書かれていますが、広い旅館にも関わらず隅々まで清掃が行き届いており、「清潔感」がありました。キレイな喫煙ルームもあるので喫煙者も安心です。お料理についてですが、「すべてにおいて平均点を上回ってくる」洗練された味がしました。旅館の料理といえば大抵１つ２つはクセのあるお品が出されるイメージがありますが、ここは日本人なら誰が食べても「美味しい」と感じると思います。特に茄子の天ぷらは絶品でした（衣はサクサクっとした仕上がりで、中身は口の中で「ジュワァ～」ととろけます）。全体として、ご主人や女将さんの優しさを感じられるとても良い旅館です。こういう旅館はいつまでも日本にあり続けてほしいなと思いました（文句なしの星５です！）。
