We stayed three nights at this hotel. It was clean and we loved the layout of the ******. It was designed beautifully as if you were walking through a Tuscan village with restaurants and shops on the perimeter and games and machines in the middle. Despite the lovely ******, we had some major disappoin**ents. CUSTOMER SERVICE. We did not feel like we were welcomed and valued guests of the hotel. This began on day one when we checked in and lasted throughout our stay. In most hotels, the staff greet their guests with a warm smile and a they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and show you that they appreciate you choosing their hotel. At ****** del Sol I do not remember being greeted once by any staff and we definitely never got a smile from anyone. Literally, everyone from housekeeping, waitstaff, to the front desk staff were cold, uncaring and simply transactional. POOL - You are required to get a new wristband each time you enter the pool area, and if you take the band off overnight, you are required to bring the old one back to the front desk for an exchange. The front desk staff we encountered were cold and distrustful of us when we tried to get a new band without the exchange because we either lost it or housekeeping may have taken it. This is not how a guest wishes to be treated. One front desk staff person by the name of Amber made us feel guilty and distrusted and unwelcomed because we didn't have our bands. She coldly stated hotel policy that we are required to turn in the band we were given upon check in and no exceptions could be made. My spouse found one band and brought it down and asked nicely if we could please get another one for me so that I could got to the pool as well and apparently the manager approved it. However, when I went down to get it Amber gave me the stink eye and did not utter one word to me. ROOM - Room was nicely appointed and had a lovely sofa in front of the window. I liked the shower and the automatic light in the closest. The bed had valleys in it and was starting to show it's age. It was not the most comfortable. I would prefer a Smart TV that I can cast my own subscription services like Netflix, Prime, Etc.. but that is a minor inconvenience. RESTAURANT - We ate at Moby's and big kudos for having a 24/7 restaurant. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast and the 'hash browns' were basically tater tots and the bacon tasted like it was cooked 2 days ago, but otherwise it was fine. I really appreciated having a place to eat at 5am. I want to try the buffet before I leave. Well there you have it. If you don't mind being treated like you are an inconvenience then this hotel is for you.
