Nice hotel in the middle of Sequoia National Park.

The location is fabules, but our room 6215 at Thunderbird was the only one with less windows and view. We did a lot of struggle to find the place to check-in, but got good help when we finally understood. A little sign, or many signs on the Thunderbird would be a help for severel costumers.
My feeling was that your company prefure big companys, not singel tourist.

Very pretty place. It is highly advisable to sleep in this hotel because it is inside the park.

We arrived just before 8pm, the receptions wasn't friendly at all. She checked us in and gave us the paperwork without any explanation as to what was what. We asked for the restaurant and stated they closed in 20 min. When we asked for a recommendation she stated no to eat there. We went to the bar to order. 1 pizza, a salad, a sandwich, 1 beer, and a plastic cup of wine $90. The room wasn't that great for the amount that they charge. Overpriced for sure. The housekeeping staff very unfriendly and look miserable.
The only positive experience we had was with the young lady Alexandra who is another receptionist who we talked to the next morning. Very friendly and cheerful, she made up for the supervisor on duty the night before.

Beautiful area and nice room. But the heater/air conditioning unit fan never shut off the entire time. Very annoying. The bathroom fan was extremely noisy and turned on automatically with the light. The room needed some maintenance. The staff, food, service was very nice.

We went during the mid July period when temperatures ran around 100 degrees. Given the absence of AC, it was too hot especially at night. We got our hiking and sightseeing in during the 2 days we were there (some things were still closed due to the pandemic) but we left a day early to get to a place that had AC. Other than that, no complaints. Going in, We weren’t expecting the Bellagio but even then, it’s A little pricey for what you get. Next time, we plan to stay outside the park and travel into Kings to see that side.

Les plus : - Très bel hôtel en plein cœur de la nature et au milieu du parc Sequoia. - Lits confortables. - Réfrigérateur, micro-ondes, cafetière et table dans la chambre. - Parking gratuit. Les moins : - La salle de bain manque un peu de modernité. - Rien autour de l'hôtel pour manger hormis le restaurant de l'hôtel. - Le prix de la chambre (environ 300 € la nuit en mai...)

Was looking forward to and expecting a great stay looking at website description but was disappointed. Only place to stay overnight and eat in the area, was an expensive booking. Setting is fantastic, reception area looks very nice with welcoming staff but accommodation was a different experience. Accommodation block up a hill from busy car park so you have to haul your own luggage up a set of steps or push a trolley up a track, then no lift so carry bags up stairs. The block smelled stale and carpets need a good spring clean. Room dark and uninviting with few amenities although quite large. Bring your own drinking water, there is a shop on site but suggest go to the market in Lodgepole as more comprehensive selection available. Restaurant was chaotic for dinner but nowhere else for guests to go. Overall poorest overnight experience of tour.
