Tru by Hilton Tupelo

We arrived late in the evening at 10:30 after a long drive only to be greeted by a most unpleasant receptionist who told us the hotel was full so we couldn't change rooms. This was totally false as confirmed to us by the chambermaid. There was human hairs in the bath/shower. Such a shame that a great name like Hilton has fallen so far.

Try was by far one of the nicest and cleanest places I have ever stayed! The grounds were so pretty with the prettiest flowers. It was kinda fancy and I plan on going back there to stay soon. My bed was so clean and so comfortable… I do check! Enjoyed everything!

The staff at this location were very friendly and my room was clean. I appreciate the amenities provided by this chain. It creates a relaxing atmosphere.

Nice place

The hotel itself is nice. If you have stayed at a Tru before, then you are familiar with the types of room and what to expect. But from my experience at this location, there are two things to note. If you come in after 9 pm, be sure to call ahead. I got there at 9:00 pm on a Friday night and waited 20 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. I finally used the house phone to dial the front desk (TWICE) to get the staff member to help check us in. When we checked out, we got our bill. HOWEVER, a day later, there was an additional charge for $179. The corporate office tried to tell me that it was the balance since I was originally charged for one night, which was simply not true! Beware! I have filed a complaint with the hotel, but Hilton is sketch in its accounting, so make sure that you are not charged with additional fees that you should not be!!

The hotel is very clean and well priced/appointed for a night's stay. The rooms are very small and all amenities in the room are carefully planned to be compact with the exception of the TV which is huge. My primary complaint is that I had to wait around 15 minutes both checking in and out until a very slow moving and personality-less employee finally came out to check us in/out. Other aggravated people were also waiting. This place will not be on my list for my next stay.

Loud door closures unable to rest throughout the night. Room appeared clean with exception of the shower. Bed was comfortable. Good lighting in room and bathroom. Breakfast with the usual fare. Free parking. Seemed to be a safe area. First room assigned had a strong odor of cigarette smoke. We were moved to another room and told points would be added to our account. That didn't happen. Refrigerator did not get cold. Ice machine not working on our floor. Luckily, the first floor one was working.

Staff is always very friendly. Onsite breakfast is outstanding esp for a hotel. A lot of options! Also like the central location of property

Staff was kind and helpful and room was clean! Wish the adult beverage selection could have including wine or seltzer variety! Very Good breakfast wish they had bacon versus sausage patties but it wasnt a dealbreaker lol .. would definitiely stay again!!
