A beautiful, calm, clean environment to enjoy an afternoon tea (given as a gift). Corina looked after us very well, and the whole experience was relaxed and easy. The grounds were well looked after, and made for a pleasant walk after eating.

Had a lovely evening away with partner as a special escape from our toddler! Our room was lovely and comfortable. Staff all very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Dined in the restaurant in the evening and Pamela was fantastic! She recommended some dishes on the menu and was very knowledgeable. Our table was in the first room as you enter as we wanted somewhere more relaxed rather than the main dining area. The food was nice, I had the vegetarian meal and partner had chicken. We had a nice custard tart dessert to share to end the meal which was tasty. Breakfast the next day was great, service quick, coffee hot and food delivered quickly. Eggs Benedict were a winner. Had a great stay and we highly recommend. Thank you so much.

Really disappointing in many ways. Firstly the room itself was a little dated and worn, though the bathroom was at least clean and well presented. We wanted to use the spa facilities and paid an additional £20 each to do so. We wish we hadn’t as it is not worth it. We were on a couples date, but the steam room and sauna were in the male/female changing rooms, which meant I couldn’t spend this time relaxing with my other half, which was the point of the break. One of the spa pools was also out of action. The most disappointing part of the stay had to be the service and food in the Reflections restaurant. We ordered the sharing bread, which was tough bread that had been warmed to make it palatable. We both ordered steaks, one medium rare and one well done. These arrived before we had chance to finish the bread and the waiter was quite rude. The steak itself was stringy and not worth the £39 price tag. We were offered free desserts, but we’d been so disappointed with the food we politely turned it down on the basis that the food wasn’t very good. The front of house managers response was ‘but the desserts are’. Really, it should all be good at the prices they are charging, not just the desserts! There was a lack of ambience and we were in and out in 30 minutes! It felt like we were just hustled in and out with a real lack of creating a dining experience.

A little bit tired, spa treatments were average, not enough staff for the number of customers. There are definitely better spa options available in the area.

We booked a package to stay at the hotel, have dinner, and use the spa for one night. Although it wasn't the cheapest we had a very memorable time. On arrival, we were told we had been upgraded to a room in the new annex. We hadn't asked for this and after inspecting the room, we asked to be moved back to the main (old) house. Li Anne Taylor - Guest Services Manager couldn't have been more helpful. She understood the reasons for our request and arranged the room swap immediately. The rooms in the old building were great! Another highlight of the package was the massage I received. At the end of the stay, I can honestly say, we were relaxed and we'd thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We went to Alexander's for a meal to celebrate my husband's birthday. Sadly our meal was not up to expectations. The food was very nice, but there was hardly any of it. The meat portion was ok, but the vegetable portions were practically non existent and there wasn't even a bread roll to at least fill us up a little bit. Vegetables aren't that expensive and are vital for a healthy diet. There wasn't even a blob of ice cream to accompany the lemon tart we ordered for dessert. It wasn't good value for money and despite the staff being friendly and very efficient, the whole experience was let down by the lack of food. What a shame.

We had the most wonderful day today at the lovely Alexander House! Every aspect of our stay was fab! We want to make a very special thank you to Lottie, who is one of the Spa Therapist's there who is just full of life and positivity. My wife had her for a treatment and said that it was simply the most incredible massage treatment she has ever had and she's had many all over the world. Lottie's hand's need to be insured we feel! Lottie is extremely talented, knowledgable and it's honestly worth just a visit for her! Thank you again to all of the team at Alexander House & Spa... we will be back!

This is mine and my partners favourite place to come, so relaxing and the staff are always welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Special shout out to Reece who was amazing during our stay and helped us out with everything! Genuinely would recommend to everyone for a lovely relaxing time in this fantastic hotel with amazing friendly staff.

Just been away for a few days with a girlfriend for a break from the World - Staff were lovely and the spa was out of this world .. treatments were 5 star .. sadly let down really badly by 'Reflections' restaurant last night for dinner ... on reflection I wish we had not have gone there! It was that bad that we never even ordered food. The menu was very boring, the tables were so close together you could have had a drink from your neighbours table with a straw, and when our neighbors food came out, we were so turned off by it, that we left and ordered room service! I spoke to a few people this morning whilst in the Spa and they all said the same ... Staff 5 star - Hotel 5 star Spa 5 Star ... Reflections Restaurant ... 0 stars! We would definately go back but would miss out the restaurant that is for sure.
