The Oakwood Hotel by Roomsbooked

Booked for the cheltenham Gold Cup, arrived to find a guest complaining about their room. Waited for that to be resolved. When we eventually got in our room we were back at reception complaining. Damp smell in room, freezing cold, heater only works when your play around with it. The bathroom had a stink and was clearly not nice to use. 0 stars for customer service.

We visit on a regular basis for drinks and food with friends and this place is amazing! The staff are all friendly and eager to help, the food cooked by Phil and the others is great! The food is all fresh and really tasty. The new menu is fantastic too! Definitely a place to visit if you are in the area

A rat, bed bugs, no drinking water, nowhere to buy a drink , beatle in reception, horrible smelling place, grouting in bathroom disgusting - that about sums our stay up! When I emailed rooms booked to give them a chance to comment they just said their investigations had not shown any of this and as I hadn’t taken any photos there wasn’t anything they could do! Read the other reviews - there are two trip advisor pages for this place Next time we are at Hartpury we will stay in the horse box

Read all reviews not just the fake 5 star ones !!! Large car park , no staff on reception as they were serving in the bar ⏳ Finally got to our room after redoing paperwork which we had already submitted details when booking. Asked for card deposit in case we damage room or take anything . Room was cold and carpet could do with a clean and shake n vac . I would just try another hotel …

I stayed at this hotel for the weekend Friday to Monday and all I can say from the outside it doesn’t look much but inside is clean tidy, the rooms are very nice, Hannah was on front desk she was amazing and so helpful also the 2 young men who were on sat and Sunday were so helpful nothing was to much trouble and the cleaners were great to so for me I would recommend this to any of my friends and family.

Although the property was clean and in a peaceful location it is in is in need of a a revamp. The bed was uncomfortable and the fittings especially in the bathroom were tired

Travelling as disabled, I was surprised to find a step without a railing out of reception with no ramp offered. What bright spark approved the plans to put all the walk in accessible bathr ooms on the first floor with no lift.? I would like a reply to this point. It's not too late to make some of the ground floor bathrooms properly adapted.

It all started so well , booked room. Paid deposit , paid for room … Walked to room from reception , cleaning staff were refreshing rooms . It was mid afternoon so nothing to be of concern. Went into room , first red flag - - room smelt musty and damp 2nd red flag the bathroom smelt awful We checked the loo clean and full of clear water , the actual smell was coming out of the bath waste? We ran the bath which seemed to resolve the issue. 3rd Red Flag 🚩- no heating in the room. I went back to receptionist who was on a call so I waited. After 5 minutes they finishers the call and asked if all was ok? I explained the issues , they said they could get housekeeping to spray the room & maintenance to look at the heating. They did say it was easy to turn on as it was electric . I asked if there was another room ? They said to transfer to another room would be chargeable as we had used the room !!! I said we hadn’t used the room we had only been in it 5 to 10 minutes. At this point another person appeared in reception and said that I should return to my room so they could fix things. I was most upset by this 2nd person’s involvement but decided to go back to the room. I went back and my partner was watching TV with a cupp of tea she had just made. I discussed the issues and the response from teception. At this point a woman walked into the room and started spraying a deodorant or room spray …. No explanation or anything . She left after a minute. My partner were most unhappy with this so we gathered our bags and went back to reception. The receptionist looked a little stressed , we both explained the situation and asked for an alternative room as ours was unsuitable . The receptionist was then interrupted by this second reception person who said that any room transfer would incur a charge as our original room would require housekeeping to revisit. I explained wee understand that but our initial entry to the room made it aware that no one had used that room for a number of days . After much discussion it was agreed to transfer us to another room as goodwill. When I finally got my deposit back they had deducted a large amount for the original room to cover cleaning & preparation!!! If they had done it right first time then this would not have happened. My advice don’t book with Roomsbooked !!!
