We loved this hotel. It is a lakefront property but on the mainland (not an island) and close to the old palace. It was a lovely place at a great price. It's in old style with courtyards and nooks everywhere - even a small "library" area. Most of the hotel has lake views. The rooftop area has a small pool (could have been cleaner - always had bugs on the top of the water). This area also has great views and we ate there one night which was by candle light and a panorama of the city and lake. Staff were very friendly and always helpful. There's a tour shop/money exchange in front of the hotel which we used. We ate breakfast and lunch at the restaurant and it was all good. WiFi did not work in our room but after discussing with reception we were given a hot spot modem for our room and then the WiFi was perfect. We were not leaving until 9pm on our last day and the hotel allowed us to use the room and all facilities until we left for a small charge (it was low season so likely not very busy). Get a lakeview room otherwise why stay there?

Such an amazing time to be at this palace. The calm of the lake and relaxing vibes of the place makes it a perfect combination for spending hours and hours there. Jagat collection properties are known for it's unique and exclusive design style which you will feel in every corner of this place. Atmosphere - 10/10 Food - 11/10 Location - 10/10 Ambience - 10/10. was visited first time with my family on dates 25-11-2024 time 3.45 pm. After a long time wait suddenly staff was coming and pls give your order this is final lot, I said I want to take order like starters not proper food, After confirming with supervisor it will take around 1 hour to serve starters I said ok and Give order 2 cold coffees with icecream or without icecream. In cold coffee with icecream found 'SPIDER and CORIANDER LEAVES' in blind coffee. So the quality of food and hygiene parameters is very poor. Hotel and Restaurant is not aware about the food quality SERVING SPIDER AND CORIANDER LEAVES IN A DRINKS.. Restaurant staff talking roudly, served water on my table after so many reminders. Me and my family is not happy with food quality and services

The food is too bland, I loved the experience the view and everything but the food is very basic, the Staff is too ignorant I waited for my dish for more than an hour and after an hour of wait i was disappointed by there food. For the view point of view its really amazing but not for the food it just ok

Amazing hotel. Excellent staff starting from boat ride staff - Vikram, front office- Ishwar, shop- Kaju and all others. Very nice and clean hotel. View from restaurant is amazing and the food as well. Will come back soon and recommend this hotel to everyone

As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a welcome drink while our room was getting prepared. The room had a beautiful view to the main hall, where traditional music was played at dawn. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've seen of all places in India. This comes as really important to me. All employees were exceptionally nice to us, and offered us water for our journey when checking out. I would gladly stay again at Jagat Niwas Palace.

Beautiful hotel on the edge of Lake Pichola. Stunning views from both restaurants. Excellent food and friendly staff. Tuk tuk pick up as streets too narrow for cars. Excellent location for sightseeing. Rooms well appointed and beautifully decorated. Everything worked.

Fantastic stay. We loved our room facing the lake. The restaurants have great views, especially the roof top one. It seemed to be a popular photoshoot destination :) Beautifully done hotel. Great staff - warm, helpful, welcoming. The nearby market area and one of the gates of the city-palace are easily accessible. Quick access to autorickshaws. Very good food. Overall no complaints at all.

Beautiful location on the side of Lake Pichola, set in an ancient palace. Great views, nice rooftop restaurant, good breakfast buffet (Western and Indian options) , friendly staff, very nice rooms. Very easy to walk to most major sights from the hotel. One downside was the number of couples coming to the hotel to do wedding photography - at one point there were three or four at once so this became a bit intrusive (although totally understand why you would want the photos take there).

Nice building as it is a former Haveli. Well located to visit the city center. Good restaurant for dinner. Very noisy place as all the rooms are facing the inner courtyard and the restaurant. Means noise at 7am when breakfast is starting until 11.30pm at least! Hotel is open to exterior visitors who talks, laugh ano take pictures literally in front of room doors.. Breakfast is really average! Low quality and not enough choice. Staff not friendly. Fitness room not working. Pool dirty.

The very impressive building is a wonderful ambient however there should be some things that needs to be done in order to give it the 5 . 1. the wifi is not working properly 2. the AC is so old and noisy that you can’t hear your alarm clock in the morning. Now to the very good things that this hotel offers: The food is one of the best I had so far during my stay in India and the workers are very nice and humble.

It is a wonderful place in a wonderful location. Gorgeous room with a lot of space and comfort and a great view. Very good breakfast with relaxing live music; and an ideal place for dinner, at their roof top restaurant with a variety of Indian and international options …and a gorgeous view of the lake and its palaces.

A beautiful heritage building; the Jagat Niwas palace hotel is an 18th century palace that has been converted to a hotel. We stayed in a lovely lake side view room. The air conditioning is good as is the bathroom facilities. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We ate at the roof top terrace restaurant which has wonderful views over the lake and Udaipur. The food was very good, the service excellent and the price very reasonable, for example around £5.50 for a vegetarian main course, a very substantial dahl. Total meal cost was £43 for 2 starters, mains, breads, pudding and alcohol. The hotel has a very good massage centre and also a gym (which we didn’t use). All in all a lovely place to stay.

We returned to this Palace 17 years after our visit and it was exactly as we had remembered it. Idyllic views, great service and amazing dining experience. You may look at other options, but this heritage hotel has everything at a great value. The lake view rooms offer one of the best morning views, whilst the rooftop restaurant offers brilliant food with views across Lake Pichola. We will be back on our next visit to India.
