Morefield Motel

First impression of the owners was great, they are very helpful and could not do enough even when they were very busy. £5 to do a wash load of gym kit was really helped so I can keep doing morning runs. The room was clean but first impressions were not great. Once in the room everything was clean but the carpet was well used and looked grubby. The whole room just looked well used but that said I had a great nights sleep and good to have car directly outside the room. Nothing to compline about but I still have mixed feeling I really wanted to like this place because of the owners but is a hard sell for £145 a night for a very basic motel room.

My brother and i planned our NC500 trip in Mar 2021 when Covid was still a thing. We mostly booked b and bs who would tell us to book dining. When we booked Ullapool we stayed at a hotel, and there were plenty of dining places advertising so we left it til we turned up to find out that places shut on Monday. Also summer season ends 31 Aug, so staff are away on their holidays . We asked our hotel for a recommendation and they recommended Morefield, which we booked immediately. Its 15 minutes walk down a proper footpath. We were not disappointed. Morefield has an extensive high quality menu, and we had 3 courses. Service was efficient, happy, and i have no hesitation recommending this place again. Moral of the story? When you book your Ullapool accomodation, book this place for food!

Great hotel cracking food and owners are lovely would recommend to anyone traveling up this way. Views from the hotel are outstanding looking around the hills. Also a nice we nature walk 2 mins away with a stunning river and more views of the hillside.

I’ve just been for an evening meal and it was fab! Lovely, friendly service (I always appreciate a smile & manners and they had those for sure!), also delicious, fresh food. Wish I could’ve gotten a room there, but it’s a good sign that they were fully booked.

We stayed here with Britstops in the van. We booked in advance as it is popular. The welcome was warm, friendly and efficient. The specials menu focusses on seafood, but if that isn’t your thing, there is plenty of other choice on the regular menu . The choice of beers was good too. We will definitely stop by on our next visit to the area.
