The hotel was lovely with good facilities. Situated near the river. We had a pleasant room and a good [self service] breakfast. Check in was - however - chaos. We were travelling by coach in a party of 60 odd. The coach used the rear entry "ground floor". Reception was on 1st floor. People would get in lift with their luggage to go up only to appear again and again not having done so.

The room was clean and nice. The staff downstairs in the bar were very pleasant and service-oriented. The breakfast was also quite okay.
After being at other Clarion hotels and other hotels with a spa, I had higher expectations because you would still have to pay 250/person for access to the "spa" even though you were staying at the hotel. This was more of a relax, pool (which was not particularly warm) and a sauna. Nice but in my opinion should be something that was included in the room booking and not cost extra if you were already staying at the hotel.

Inexperienced staff during the tasting menu. No knowledge of wine they served. Only one who presented the food in addition to the guest chef (who, by the way, was great and what saved the evening). No flexibility to open the breakfast earlier even though everything was prepared. We asked the night before when we both started work at 07. It was a matter of a few minutes.
The reception staff talked about the kitchen staff as "they usually never agree to open earlier". In other words, no feeling that the hotel wanted to work together to make the guest happy.
Rancid bacon. The cheese plate was topped with cheese slices that had clearly been left without plastic (dry with a changed color), plastic in the pot with pickled cucumber, etc.
The rooms were nice and well thought out.
Despite that, unfortunately clearly bad value for money.

Excellent hotel, centrally located and easily accessible. The room assigned was not very large but it was comfortable and clean. The breakfast offers an excellent choice. 50 meters from the hotel there is a very convenient overnight parking (free).

The woman at reception was incredibly helpful and accomodating printing off and scanning some business documentation I needed to sign urgently.
