The room is very exquisite, the details are in place, the service is very professional, the balcony is very comfortable, and the garden view on the balcony is beautiful. The only drawback seems to be that the soundproofing is poor. If it can be improved, it would be perfect. Just outside the location, there are various shops, restaurants and bars, and the atmosphere is first-class! All in all, good reviews and highly recommended!

Excellent hotel, the rooms have everything for a good rest. The entire area is surrounded by greenery. The location is right on the main street of Unawatuna, 5 minutes from the beach. The hotel has amazing breakfasts, for a fee, very tasty. I recommend the hotel. If you go to Unawatuna, then definitely go there.
This is a quiet hotel with all rooms directly leading to outdoor terrace or balcony. As a family group of four we had two rooms booked and were allocated rooms on the ground floor, with one being notably larger than the other but both charming. We were all given a delicious cold watermelon drink on arrival. Although very close to amenities the rooms all face into the garden so it was reasonably quiet. We were provided key for external gate to get back in if late returning from evening out as there is no 24 hour reception/presence but we were provided with a phone number for contact should we have needed it. We didn’t eat here at all but numerous nearby cafes for breakfast and restaurants for dinner. Only issue we had was that it took a few attempts to unlock one of the room doors as manual lock and key system and the key seemed to jam but we did manage to lock/unlock the room after a few attempts. Although basic, this is a lovely charming place to stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here on future trip to Sri Lanka.

This has been the perfect getaway! The peaceful environment and unique architecture made our stay truly memorable. It's just a 10-minute walk to the beach, and the location offers easy access to all our needs. Last but not least, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the delicious food was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended!

Very sympathetically done small hotel that is in the centre whilst at the same time a little apart from the main Una drag - my room was spacious and comfortable with a good shower and it’s own small private balcony. Plenty of space to stretch out and with a choice of two fans and air conditioning - I would highly recommend it

We stayed at Dunes for 3 nights in total. The hotel is close to the sea, surrounded by a lot of good restaurants. Although it’s in the city center, it’s still a quiet place to have some rest. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful, and great for relaxing. Thanks for the good time and say hi to your dog Simba for us 🤩.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay. Truly could not recommend it more. Stunning rooms - so much attention to detail, lovely owner and staff, amazing location and beautiful scenery. Plus it’s an absolute bargain price!

Hello. We were in cafe for 1-1,5 hours. We came and interested about is it okay stay here and work a little bit with the cup of coffee. Firstly staff say us — Yes, u can. After 30 or 40 minutes staff say us — may be bill? We say — ok. And pay the bill. After 10-15 minutes after we pay bill staff come to us again and asked — how long u plan stay here? I tell — may be 30 minutes, is it okay? No problem? Staff say — ok, no problem In 10 minutes he come again and say us — u use our internet and it’s not enough to pay only 3 dollars for coffee and stay here. No people sit in the cafe. It’s terrible attitude for guests, because firstly he don’t tell about fictitious rules in the cafe. Kindly no recommend this place. Terrible behaviour of staff and terrible service in Unawatuna.

Loved the architecture of the place and its attitude towards the environment. The hotel is also in very close proximity to the Unawatuna beach and has many restaurants and boutiques around it. By the ingenuity of design the hotel makes a hidden paradise in the middle of the city. Rooms are well appointed and are very peaceful compared to most Unawatuna hotels. We had breakfast from the hotel which was fresh and delicious. Ideal base for Unawatuna! Gayan is a great host and runs the place beautifully.

We stayed here for 5 nights 😍the rooms were cleaned everyday with clean towels daily. We stayed in the cottage at the end of the garden and loved the outside shower/ bathroom . We saw monkeys , peacocks, water monitor lizards ,chipmunks and different birds. All this is just off of the beach road.
