This place seems to be a front for something else. No care or quality at all in the service. Witnessed owner/ manager apologising to a tearful member of staff for pay being several weeks late. Beer ok. Food very unusual to say the least! I was served 20 minutes before my wife and even though we both ordered the roast our meals were totally different. No roast potatoes for my wife- on enquiring was told they had run out, mine were cremated so at a least she wasn’t missing out on much. Cold, over cooked veg- a different selection for each of us , no parsnips, gravy so over seasoned it was inedible. No desert options at all

Stayed at the Star inn last night, After reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive. Well no Need for any worries! Rooms were perfect, heating all working and the shower was lovely. We arrived and the manager Franky was most welcoming and took us up to our rooms. We enjoyed our evening in the Bar downstairs and found the regulars to be a friendly bunch, we even met the owner Warwick. Had a fab evening and we will definitely be returning! Keep up the good work guys, and thank you for making our stay memorable for the right reasons

Staying in Upton upon Severn for a few days and gave The Star a visit. Walked in and the five customers stopped talking! No welcome from the bar staff who spent her time on her phone. Decent drinks but there are much better pubs nearby. Clearly, you have to be known to be welcomed!

This is the 4th time we have been to the sunshine festival and the 4th time we have popped in to watch Liverpool play on the bank holiday weekend , the bar was packed and the bar staff / locals friendly , we watched the footy in the Bogarts room , just for the record Liverpool won 1:2 with 2 late Nunez goals . Thank you and we will see you next August bank holiday 2024

The location was fine - central to the town.
No chef - so had to get breakfast and dinner in other pubs in the town. This was due to letting the chef go - but I feel we should have been informed of this prior to our journey. No parking which meant having to park a good walk away.

Brilliant stay in such a friendly pub/hotel . Comfy clean room with great hot shower. Good breakfast too. Great location. Many thanks to Stuart and the team and see you next year. From very satisfied Geordies.

Having met Stuart and checked into my comfy room I thought all was well?! However, come morning and time for a shower—hold it right there !—no hot water at all!!!! So, in a hotel the minimum expectations are sleep and some sort of bath/shower-but not freezing!! On checkout I explained to Stuart who left me speechless when he just said well thanks for letting us know—no apologies, no offer of compensation or refund at all!! I won’t be returning

The staff (when available) were friendly, the bed was comfortable, however, the bathroom had no adequate shelves for toiletries, The bathroom. Floor was grubby, the hot water was in short supply, but the worst part was the noise from the ground floor from after 11pm until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights. Loud heavy base, beam shuddering music accompanied by loud, screatching, out of tune voices. We complained on Saturday morning and the noise was reduced on Sunday night. £552 for 3 nights, room only it is an experience Not to be repeated.

Just no. Do not waste your money. You are better off staying in your car. The place is absolutely filthy. The shower was so dirty I couldn't use it. My friend jumped in for a quick shower and it was freezing water. The room has marks all over the carpet, dirt on the doors, and dust and cobwebs in the lamps. The bed was uncomfortable. It was freezing with no heating on. No breakfast although it's advertised as part of the deal. The public bar was full of drunk workmen. I have literally never stayed in a worse place and I have slummed it around Europe.
