It was way better than I thought it would be for only 77 dollars a night. For sure will be going back.

Seems as though all of the vending and ice machines weren't working on the first floor. Lots games were out of order as well. I'm also pretty sure my room had a mouse in it.

The water park and the arcade were both great. However, the rooms were unkept, sheets on one of our beds were obviously not changed prior to our arrival. Shower faucet was barely hanging on the wall. The breakfast was not great. If you are going just to swim it is fine. If you plan to stay, check the sheets and eat anywhere but the hotel restaurant.

We are a family of 7 and I was working in the area, so we did a spring break trip to Iowa from Wisconsin. We wanted to find a hotel with a waterpark. We opted for the 2 bedroom suite which was probably the biggest room we have ever been to. The online reviews made us leery so I inspected the room prior to the rest of the families arrival. Overall room was clean. Restaurant and front desk area were nice. Free breakfast was ok and the wifi worked with no issue.

I will absolutely remember my stay at Ramada. I will remember how dirty the first room was and how we had switch rooms. The water damage in the new rooms and the duct taped TV remote. I will remember the vending machine stealing $20 and the front desk telling me I needed to handle communicating with that vendor myself. How my key stopped working while I was carrying my sleeping toddler, and my husband was carrying a pack of water. I will remember having to take my families drink order myself in the restaurant because it took over 30 minutes to get a drink. I will remember getting out to the pool on Sunday morning to be told to wait because the 3rd lifeguard was late for his shift.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Family of 7 in the suite. The rooms were clean. Just a little outdated is all. The beds were very comfortable. No bed bugs like many others stated. We checked. 🤣 The hvac unit in our room was loud. I actually loved that. Drowned out the noise in the halls. So we heard nothing and I slept great! The other room was cold. Not sure why, but we managed. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast could be better! The eggs were horrible. The rest was ok. My kids enjoyed the Waterpark. They had a blast. Yes, area could use an upgrade of paint and clearer water, but we can't complain. We had a nice time being together as a family and exploring des moines. I gave it 3 stars based off of the breakfast and the one room being cold. We didn't bother front desk with that. We managed.

I don’t recommend this hotel whatsoever. I’m guessing Trip Advisor has a maximum number of characters allowed in a review so I won’t even try to list all the negatives about this hotel. It was probably outdated and run down twenty years ago and hasn’t improved since. Heed all the bad reviews and go literally anywhere else. I’m not sure how it gets a 3.5 star on TA. People being nice I guess. Great concept for birthday parties, family get togethers, etc but it needs to be 100% renovated. Maybe charge more in order to do so.

Fun water park for the kids. Warm water. Plenty of towels in the area. More than enough lifeguards (I counted 6, maybe more) on duty. Clean room. Nice shower. Good service. Bar food was ok. Decent Continental breakfast.

Booked this stay because of the new & improved “amenities” advertised and that some of the rooms had been updated. Worst. Decision. First room, the bathroom door was broken and wouldn’t close and the heater didn’t work in addition to being fairly dirty. Was given a different room upon request. Second room, less mildew on the ceiling but still not really overly clean. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was actually blowing air INTO the room, and filling it with cigarette smoke from another room. Had to keep the bathroom door closed to contain it. Informed the front desk at checkout. Walls were extremely thin, could hear everything from the neighbors and also everything that happened in the hallway. Pool was the glimmer of part of a star: heaters worked so water was pretty warm in all pools. Spa didn’t have working jets, and also a water leak. In the morning it was 1/2 empty, filled back up with cold water. Slides were ok, but on their 2nd day back in action CLOSED due to being short staffed. Breakfast wasn’t much to brag about; thankful it was free. Don’t make the same mistake I did of thinking “surely it’s gotten better from last time.”
