I stayed at thi excellent hotel in Urubamba, Valle Sagrado, Peru, on my way to Machu Picchu. Buildings are surrounded by beautiful gardens and views of the surrounding mountains. Quiet location and excellent facilities. I highly recommend it.

Firstly I will start with the positives, the hotel was nice with beautiful greenery surrounding. The decor certainly wasn’t modern however it was perfectly fine. Secondly the negatives, customer service was inadequate. Two of us are vegetarian and one morning we had to leave before breakfast opened so were told we would have ‘takeaway breakfast’. We clarified that these would be vegetarian three times (at checkin, the night before and in the morning when collecting the bags) but when we got on our journey we found they both contained ham. This is absolutely unacceptable and I hope they treat allergens more seriously or they could kill someone. When we mentioned this to the receptionist she just smiled and nodded and said ‘oh okay’, which is not an acceptable response. Also you have to pay for water here which we were absolutely fine with. When we bought a second lot on the second day we realised we had paid double the amount the previous day. When I said this to the receptionist again she just nodded and after a long pause said she would call someone. Other members of our tour group also agreed they had paid double the price the previous day. The following morning the receptionist was extremely rude and told us we were lying. She also told us, in a borderline threatening manner, that everything we do is on camera which is a bit weird given we were in a hotel so hoping she didn’t mean ‘everything’ as that’s a gross invasion of privacy. When we asked to watch the camera footage she was speaking of she told us it wasn’t available. The amount of money was not significant but the reaction of staff was wholly inappropriate - especially for a hospitality business. Overall would not recommend anyone stay here. Customer service skills require a lot of improvement.

This is a beautiful hotel, with very comfortable rooms and very friendly and great customer service. The views from the hotel are just stunning. This place is very peaceful, and you can see beatiful mountains all around you. If you plan to visit Urubamba, I highly recomend this place.

We were on an escorted trip around Peru with a group of 15 adults and we stayed here for 2 nights before going to Machu Picchu. This was the most beautiful place we stayed during our trip to Peru. It is set amongst a beautiful landscaped garden and mountains as back drop. The check in was efficient. Had forms filled out ready for us to sign and while we did that they started taking our bags to the room. The lobby is beautifully decorated with amazing paintings and has a small bar. The room was very spacious with 2 Queen beds and a small balcony facing the back garden. We had 2 soaps and shampoo sachets, towels were replaced everyday.  The staff were so helpful. Please note, there is no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room. They had refillable water available for our group and I got the restaurant staff to provide me with hot water on both nights.  The breakfast was very very basic. Scrambled eggs, French toast, bread, potato chips & cereal with tea, coffee & juices. The town/village square is around 15 minutes walk from here. Beautiful place and definitely worth a stay.

Overall, I was a little concerned when we turned the road into the property but one was we got to the property? It was nice they had quarters and plenty of staff to check us in. Take us to our rooms. Nice courtyard area. The bed was too hard for my liking, but other than that the room was very nice.

As we were getting close to the culminating point of our Peruvian adventure, Machu Picchu, we spent a night at Hotel Agustos in Urubamba. The views were exquisite, mountains all around us. Gorgeous flower gardens surround hotel buildings, we got to see hummingbirds feeding on the flowers. Rooms were spacious, nice bar, great massage.

Woke up this am a bit early to take advantage of the peaceful and most wonderful hotel garden grounds that I have experienced. Hotel is very clean. Rooms are spacious with balconies and bathtubs. The tub is nice after a long day at Matchu Piccu. Dining room provides excellent meals. Location is a bit isolated but the peaceful setting and amenities make it a wonderful home base for touring the area.

Marietta was our bartender while we stayed for 3 days. She was professional and very kind and took care of all our needs. Ask for her when you go to the restaurant or bar. She is an excellent server and is very customer focused.
