Raglan Lodge

In winter having the heating on before a late arrival would help. Otherwise I’ve stayed here a few times and recommend it

On arrival room was freezing cold and dirty. Had to wait to be transferred to another room. Not what you want when you have just travelled for over 3 hours and all you want is a warm room and some sleep...

Our room No9 was absolutely disgusting. Room was dirty, there was dust/stains everywhere, stains on the picture/mirror/wall/ceiling. BED BUGS IN THE BED. Took the sofa out to use & under it was filthy with food, dirt & paperwaste. Bathroom was filthy, toilet had stains all down the front, dirty towels, tiles on the wall around the bath,I would say never ever been cleaned (see video). NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I STAY AGAIN. PEOPLE DO NOT BOOK😡😡

Loads of potential if they had only kept on top of the maintenance. The bathroom was full of mould and unusable due to a broken fan. No one to complain to. Got an email address given to us and got no response. Had young child with asthma with us. Will be reporting to the local council.

Staff were friendly and room was a good size. Mattress was dreadful, really lumpy and uncomfortable. Fire alarm went off one evening and no one came. I went to get a staff member from the petrol station who said it was a regular occurrence.

Awful. Do not go to Raglan Lodge! I do not understand why Buyagift includes such a shady and incompetent hotel to be included in its list of choices. I checked into Raglan Lodge for a two night stay in mid March and received a parking notice charge from the car park operator Parking Eye. I specifically gave the receptionist my car registration number to avoid problems. However,despite sending my receipt as evidence that I was a guest at the hotel, Parking Eye stated that this was insufficient evidence! And now I have a fine!!!! There is obviously no communication between the parking operator and Raglan Lodge. I emailed my concerns to Raglan Lodge but have received no reply. A truly shameful hotel chain that should be promoted by no organisation! An appalling and time wasting experience.... shameful!!!

I wish I had read the reviews before booking here. The hotel states 24 hour reception. This is in fact a check in across the road at a garage. I wouldn't have felt safe here on my own. I have never stayed at accommodation which was so dusty! The shelves were thick with dust and the floor didn't look like it have ever been hoovered. The bathroom had mould and there were toothpaste splatters all up the wall. The bed was so basic and uncomfortable with springs sticking in you all night. Not a good night sleep at all. Our bedroom was right next to the main door which banged every time someone came in and out. The halls and entrance had buckets and water coming in which from reading other reviews has been ongoing for a long time. Not a place I will be returning to.

There was a huge stain on the carpet and a strong smell of damp. It looked like there had previously been a flood from the ensuit bathroom. Both temperature control buttons on the heater were missing so no way to adjust the room temperature. Only 3 TV channels. No kettle in the room on arrival although the staff did respond quickly when I requested one. It is very cheap which is why I booked it but I’m not sure I’d stay there again. Maybe other rooms are in better condition?
