Best Western Gateway Adirondack Inn

Felt like apartments with a hotel twist, plenty of privacy. Breakfast is okay, waffles, maple syrup, regular coffee and some yoghurt etc, the basics. The Location was very good for me, close to restaurants, plenty of parking space for large vehicles. The Hotel service was god, very helpful with my Laundry, and getting the room cleaned.

This hotel was far below expectations for the Best Western brand. The room was clean...if you were willing to ignore the stained sheets, black melted plastic something on th bed spread, the very worn, scratched and mared piece of white plastic rv repair tape covering the hole in the tub, and the odd stain on the chair, the wierd stuff stuck to the ceiling above the exit door, the mirrored dated close doors that were a struggle to open amd the very well worn ironing board. This room was right next to the public doorway (room 315) the door adjustment for softening the closing were off so starting around 6AM the door slammed over and over. There is no hot water available at the tiny, poorly stocked, super unattractive hospitality spot. When you own a glass fronted hotel, employ people to clean glass. The lock on the front door of the room was challenging to engage. The secondary lock was an old school chain. There were open unlocked doors theoughout the facility with no key entry. No one on desk duty after certain hours. None of which inspired confidence in safety. Basically I accepted that I was in something equivalent to a welfare hotel and that if I pushed the chair up against the door it would most likely be OK overnight.

It was nice...got a late check out! That was awesome. TV sounds was weird and the tub was filling up. Clean room and nice people to work with.

the motel lost power from about 7:30 PM untill some time tin the early AM. There was no heat or lights. It got very cold. the staff was no where to be seen. there should have at leasr offered extra blanks

The room was freezing and took quite a bit of time to warm up, we had to place a towel along the bottom of the door to help stop the draft. The beds were very loud because the frames were made of thin metal sheet material. The room was clean and the staff were nice. Overall it was an ok place to stay as it was close to everything.

Our room was freezing cold when we got there. Seems they turn the heat off when no one is in the room. It took hours for it to warm up. The door also had an air leak at the bottom and about two feet up the side. It didn’t not shut all the way so the air draft came in and kept the room and floor cold. As a result the heater had to be blasted and it made it very dry each night. When I told the front desk they just apologized and said they were under construction and that no other rooms were available because they were fully booked. I had to use one of the extra blankets on the bed to act as a blocker for the air under and the side of the door. Lastly because the air was off it was very musty in the room and now all of my clothes, jackets and belongings smells old and dusty. I don’t normally complain about rooms but I felt this had to be addressed as it was definitely not worth the price we paid and I feel very duped into thinking this was a good place based on the rating it has. Perhaps it was just the one room but it could also have been other rooms. Just that the one I was in was terrible.

We were over charged for our “incidentals” and took 5 phone calls from the front desk and it wasn’t resolved until morning. The clerk was new and in training but the other clerk was busy doing other things which lead to her error. The phones were not working properly. Front desk called our room but couldn’t hear us and had to call back. We received an unwelcomed wake up call in the morning. When I called the front desk, the new clerk said the phones weren’t working, it was an error and hung up on me! The hotel was clean but looks nothing like the pictures online. Breakfast was poor - th eggs sausage and potatoes were inedible.

Great room...Great customer service...checking in was very nice and the night attendant was very helpful.

Room was pretty comfortable. We spilled something on the floor and when we wiped it up we saw that the floor was quite dirty.
