What a formidable place, I cannot stress enough what a wonderful, magical and enchanting place this actually is. Directions are spot on if you follow the guidance, you drive up bumpy road (nothing too crazy but I wouldn’t do it at speed) which is in stunning, pristine woodland full of wild flowers, ferns and as it was May, bluebells. Plenty of parking outside of the building. The entrance is slightly unassuming but once you walk in you are engulfed in beautiful, majestic and period style decoration which made me feel like I was in an an episode of Bridgerton. Rod greets you and gets to know you a little bit and shows you to your room. The room itself is exquisite, with large drape curtains, Victorian style bath, beautiful furnishings and vast amounts of space. The TV was a little old but satisfactory, as I was on business and more in my room than if I was on holiday, I would have liked an upgraded tv. Plenty of hot water, fantastic shower and heavenly soft bed. I just wish I wasn’t there on business to enjoy the place more! Breakfast which is chosen the night before was divine, high quality locally sourced ingredients with real butter, fresh orange juice….the list goes on. The breakfast room is like The Antiques Roadshow but amplified. The views around the property are breathtaking, and I know there is plenty to do in the area of outstanding natural beauty. I will return again but this time for leisure to enjoy the surroundings. Evening meals are not an option but a short drive will lead you to wonderful restaurants which did not disappoint neither. A truly wonderful property, location, outstanding hosts and an enviable reputation of fantastic hospitality that does not disappoint. Oh, and it was the first time I heard owls twit-twooing at night as well!

We had only booked for 2 nights but really wish it had been more. Rod and Jules have such an amazing home and we feel privileged to have been able to share it for even a couple of nights. The driveway with woodland either side offered glimpses of the river below, and as the drive opened out the imposing Georgian Manor House came into view, the red Virginia Creeper covered walls looked amazing in low the Autumn sunshine. Jules was on hand to welcome us, and once Covid checks and forms completed we were shown to our beautiful room, the Ascot Suite, complete with it's massive bed, beautiful period furniture and woodburner, which had already been lit and gave the room such a cosy feel despite its size! The bathroom was amazing, bigger than our living room at home, and featured a beautiful big clawfooted roll-topped bath and a massive, powerful shower unit. Again, period features all around, including thick wooden shutters on all of the windows. Various Teas, Coffees and Hot Chocolate were provided in the room along with a thermos of fresh milk and bottled water, plus toiletries in the bathroom... and to comply with Covid rules these were replenished by leaving the baskets on a table outside the room. Breakfast was pre-ordered the night before, with a great selection of items on offer. When we arrived at the breakfast room Rod was on hand to welcome us with piping hot drinks, while Jules was busy cooking our delicious food. After we had arrived the previous afternoon we'd gone for a stroll down to the river and discovered the ruins of an abandoned Church and at breakfast the following morning Rod was happy to fill us in on the history of it, along with the fascinating history of the house, its previous residents and told us where to find the ruins of the original Manor House built in the 1400s and abandoned in the early 1700s before the current house was built. And so boots were donned and explorations were started. Boulston Manor is an amazing place, with a fascinating history and the most warm, friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Thank you Jules and Rod for welcoming us into your HOME... We'll definitely be back x

You may just wonder where you are going as you start the drive through the woodland landscape to get to Boulston Manor but you will be met with such warmth from the owner Rod and Jules that it makes it all worthwhile. The building is of an age that might not be to everyone’s taste in these challenging times but the owners do go out of their way to make sure all home comforts are available. The superb breakfast, chosen by menu the night before and left out for collection was everything you would expect from the attentive hosts.Large bathroom with modern roll top bath and excellent separate shower , comfortable bed in large airy room, we have paid vastly more for a lot less is all I can say.

“Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again - I couldn’t resist quoting that as we drove along the driveway to Boulston Manor. But fortunately for us instead of the scary Mrs Danvers waiting to greet us on the steps, we had the delightful Mrs Thomas (Jules). What a fantastic place Boulston Manor is - welcoming, with a huge bedroom, great views, lovely walks and easy access to everywhere. Rod and Jules are very welcoming and helpful and are lovely hosts, We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Boulston Manor and would certainly recommend it to others.

I was very disappointed with the accommodation as it was nothing like any of the beautiful rooms on the website. I have looked back at the website and it advertises 3 beautiful rooms and this is what we were expecting. Sadly we were put in a room that felt like a spare room that is only used when all the other rooms a booked. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. They were following all covid rules and the guest also followed the covid rules when not in their rooms. I liked the idea of ordering breakfast the night before. Also the idea of popping things that needed replenishing on an allocated chair outside the room. If we had stayed in any of the other rooms we would have been very happy. My partner was very disappointed as he is in the guest house business and was expecting much much more from our trip away. The location of the guest house was lovely and the views were magnificent. Very peaceful location.

This was our fourth stay at Boulston Manor. We love everything about it - gorgeous house, amazing rooms, fantastic views and all so comfortable and peaceful. Jules and Rod are wonderful hosts - friendly and relaxed - and the breakfasts are stunning! We love Pembrokeshire - feels a bit like Cornwall without the crowds. Highly recommended!

There were so many things we enjoyed about this Manor House, where we stayed for two nights B&B. The room was large with king size bed, sofa and TV and with a very large separate bathroom with rolled top bath as well as shower. All spotlessly clear and COVID safe. Although COVID levels are less than previously, the owners still maintain a strict regime, wearing visors whenever meeting guests and ensuring tea/coffee/milk is refreshed without the need to enter the room. We appreciated all these little touches. Breakfast was cooked to order, which you place the night before stating preferred time. The grounds of the Manor House are extensive with walks through a field down to the river. So quiet and peaceful. All in all a great place to stay, close to lots of sandy beaches and places to visit but in a world of its own at the end of a half mile of drive, through woods. Lovely.
