After a stressful year, my wife and I finally planned a weekend break with my childhood friend, who I hadn't seen in 10 years, ***** with his wife and kids. I decided to book Ibis Vagator for two main reasons: to stay near the party hub of Vagator and because I had heard many positive things about Ibis hotels in Bangalore and other cities. It was practically a no-brainer to book the same. While making the booking through MakeMyTrip, I called Ms. Krishna a few days before to help us with adjacent rooms, as we didn't want to stay far apart. However, upon reaching the hotel after a long journey from Bangalore, everything seemed to go wrong from the start. - The first encounter with the receptionist was very rude with my friend . We asked for the rooms that were allocated, but he claimed there was no information about the instructions for adjacent rooms. We moved ahead, thinking at least we were on the same floor. - Upon reaching our room, we found that the washroom door wasn't closing. When we asked the attendant, he told us that all the rooms were similar and had the same issue (video attached). - We were given Manikchand water (which tasted funny), but my friend's room had Ibis Hotel brand water . - The lights kept going on and off (not exaggerating, but easily 20-30 times), causing the air conditioning unit to malfunction, and we were literally sweating in the room. - Despite informing them about the lack of body soap, it wasn't refilled (video attached). The worst part is that during room cleaning, there's no proper check for perishable items. - After all the hassles, we went for breakfast, which turned out to be the worst breakfast of our lives. My wife had a vada with a piece of stone in it, resulting in a cut in her mouth. When we informed the waiter and chef, they initially denied it but later accepted it (they obviously knew it was a significant mistake). During check-out, we hoped for an apology from the staff for the worst experience, but there wasn't a single acknowledgment. Additionally, when we booked a cab through a private company, because of a union outside the hotel they didn't allow the taxi to come inside, created a ruckus and even the hotel staff couldn't help in the matter.(photo attached) Coming from a hotel background myself, I understand the challenges each staff member faces to keep guests happy. However, I believe this is the only brand or, I would say, hotel that literally did not care about their guests. I have read a few other negative reviews with similar feedback, but it seems there has been no action taken by the general manager or the rooms division manager. As i faced similar issues what other guests have faced. Please read this review before choosing to stay at this hotel. There are plenty of other good properties in Goa that you can consider.
