Best mountain hotel in the States. Feels like Austria. From furniture to ambiance. Incredible breakfast and spa amenities. Nice live music in the afternoon. They have a concierge for skiing next to the gondola. Love to come back in the next winter season

Firstly, the bellmen were fantastic! We appreciated the rides and the help with bags. The concierge was also very friendly and helpful. I was underwhelmed by the front desk and had to ask for help with a matter multiple times. Our room was also extremely hot and they didn’t have a solution other than to open the window. In theory this would be fine, but with freezing temperatures, it wasn’t a comfortable option. The room and bathroom felt dated. As is the lobby. The pool and spa area is nice but I was hoping the pool would be warmer.
Overall, I think the hotel is overpriced for what it offers as it’s closer to a 4 star.

We love the sonnenalp! The hospitality is so warm and genuine, the space is charming and beautiful, the spa is unique and relaxing, they’re tremendously helpful at the bellhop and front desks and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Location is tremendous. Our favorite place to stay in Vail!

Going to Sonnenalp for the past 20 years, they never disappoint! Just keeps getting better and better! From the moment you pull up in your car to the moment you leave, an incredible experience! The Spa, pool and restaurants are wonderful. The staff goes above and beyond wanting your experience at Sonnenalp to be nothing short of perfection, and it is perfection! Cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff, the decor, the food, and the spa!

Always look forward to staying at the Sonnenalp. Easy transportation from Vail-Eagle airport. We were able to have early checkin and late checkout. Very professional and courteous staff. Excellent concierge services. Convenient ski locker/storage at base of gondola 1. Great spa facilities after a day on the mountain. Delicious buffet breakfast and in-house dining.

We stayed at the Sonnenalp for 9 days. Everything was wonderful. From the front desk staff to the housekeepers to the wait staff in all of their restaurants. We had the pleasure of having Cornelius wait on us a few times at the Bully Ranch and at the Swiss Chalet. He was very charming and personable. His recommendations were just right. Judy and Stefan are always wonderful and are like family to us. They all take great care of us. We would recommend The Sonnenalp to everyone. It’s truly a very special place.

The Sonnenalp is a phenomenal place to stay in Vail. The rooms are very comfortable and the location can’t be beat as it’s just a 5 minute walk from Vail Gondola One and the ski valet. The spa services were top notch as well and were the perfect way to recover après ski.

This place is pure class! I love the Sonnenalp. The staff is incredible. The attention to detail is superb. The rooms are well appointed. The breakfast is a great way to start the day. The restaurants on site are great. The maid service is perfect. The spa is amazing (jacuzzi, warm pool, steam shower, sauna, cold plunge, and more.). We will be back for sure!!
