Hotel Manoir Atkinson

Three reasons to give this hotel top marks. First, the location in Cerro Concepcion, an oasis of tranquility yet right in the heart of the artistic area. In my opinion, far better than many of the other neighbourhoods to stay in. Secondly, the hotel itself. Comfortable, clean and homely. A true delight to return to after a hard day of walking around the city. Thirdly, the fabulous couple Marcelo and Gloria who own the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. They provided a wealth of information on tours and places to see. Gloria’s breakfasts were a highlight of the stay as well! Cannot recommend the place highly enough. All at a very reasonable price!

Fantastic relaxing stay in this boutique hotel. Lovely breakfast and excellent offering of Chilean cuisine in the restaurant. Probably the highlight was our excellent hosts Marcelo and Gloria who accommodated all our needs and beyond.

We were lucky enough to get the balcony suite on the top floor, which was a lovely room with a perfect view and quick access to the rooftop; However, by far and away the thing that made our day, the most exceptional were the two people that run the bed-and-breakfast, Gloria and Marcel. Their personal attention made us feel like we were the only guest and everything they did always had a special extra touch. We can’t thank them enough for a wonderful time as short as it was in their town of Valparaiso.

Fantastic little gem of a hotel, which definitely feels more like a bed & breakfast, because you feel right at home there. It's a former private house turned into a hotel, and feels very cozy and homey. Location is perfect to explore the coolest neighborhoods in Valparaiso (Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepcion, it's right between the two) and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. But what really made a difference for me was Marcelo, the owner, who was super friendly and gave us great tips. That, plus the delicious made-to-order breakfast, which made a big difference vs. a traditional hotel! Would 100% recommend this beautiful place for anyone wanting to explore the city. Really undoubtedly one of the best boutique hotels I have ever stayed in. The hotel is authentic, full of charm, spotlessly clean, comfortable, private as well with the best terrace and view over the bay and rooftop of the heart of the heritage listed old part of Valparaiso. The hosts, Marcelo and Gloria are delightful in every way.

My spouse and I spent a comfortable 2 nights in Manoir, poking around the city in advance of a cruise launch. The hotel is small (8 rooms, I think) and is in a central location that's good for visitors wanting to see conventional tourist sites during a short stay. Marcelo is a host with great communication skill, and he offers good advice on what to do, where to eat, etc. He suggested we join a pay-what-you-want walking tour led by an acquaintance (fabulous) and made dining suggestions that were terrific. Manoir's breakfast was nice and we felt the simple lunch menu offered us good value (lunch is new - take it on the patio if the weather is good). Our room was clean and comfortable. I think most rooms have a balcony; ours offered offered a great view of the harbour and city. The rooftop was also open, but isn't done up especially nicely.
