Stayed in the hotel for two nights. The air conditioner was not working the first night, it was just the fan working. The temperature got to 28°C or 83°F. When tried to get it fixed during the night they did nothing. The next afternoon when I got back to the room it was still very hot. When I addressed the issue with the front desk they argued saying their maintenance person said he fix the problem. It was still 84°F in the room. They said to go to the room and the maintenance person would show up. He never did after one hour. But the air conditioning started to work finally. A lot of people rave about their lake view, all I saw was a construction site.

I had booked to stay in another hotel in Van but arrived to find that it was closed because of COVID-19. Staff there alerted Celal, the English-speaking manager of Athena Life Otel, who kindly collected me and arranged for me to stay in his hotel. He gave me a very genuine welcome and made very helpful arrangements for my touring programme. There is a great deal to explore in the vicinity of Van and I enjoyed my stay very much. I also met the owner and his younger brother and found them both very friendly. The breakfasts were good (despite the usual change from buffet to plated meal in this time of pandemic) and were served by a very courteous waiter. My room was pleasant, with a comfortable bed and satisfactory en-suite facilities. On TV one could watch Turkish and Japanese news in English as well as a large variety of programmes in Turkish. I can recommend the hotel for the friendliness of the staff and its central location in the city, and certainly intend to stay there on my next visit to Van.

Very bad, not very recommended. The sanitation is average, the shower room for bathing is broken, and there is no air conditioning. The buffet breakfast is just fine, not suitable for Asian tastes. Seriously not recommended

Hotel is good, clean, great location because you can visit whole central city by walking, services are good too But breakfast place in first floor is too small for hotel passengers, you have to wait in lines to find free table In the end i think is one best hotel in van to stay
