Residence Inn Portland Vancouver

We used to stay at the "old" Residence Inn Vancouver once a month over a three year period, but that was 30 years ago. Planning to meet friends who were driving up from Roseburg, I suggested that meet up and stay at the Res, just like "old times". Little did I know that the old place had been sold and converted into an apar**ent complex (a lot can happen in three decades, lol). When we arrived at the new place, were checked in by Saye, who is nothing short of amazing. She alone turned what might have been just a regular weekend getaway into a truly wonderful experience. I've been in the customer service business for over fifty years, and I'm here to say I wish I could "clone" her-- she is a true gem when it comes to taking care of the guest. Okay, back to the review-- Room-- beautiful, well laid out, plenty of closet and storage space. Well-equipped kitchen area (although we didn't use anything except for the full-size fridge). The property has a center courtyard with a firepit and two complimentary gas grills, next to the indoor pool, hot tub and exercise area. OK, so not everything was perfect in the bathroom design, IMHO--- The toilet was standard height (14") elongated bowl, which harkens back to when people were a little shorter (far more common these days is what is called "comfort height" (16"), which is almost an industry standard). All the "marble" countertops have square edges and corners. This is no big deal in most areas, but that one sharp corner when you try to boost yourself up off of the commode is actually painful. Would we stay here again?--YES, in a heartbeat, and we recommend that you do, too.

The staff was amazing. Tracy is such a sweet lady. The hit is new and clean. Very nice place to stay.

I cannot say more about the wonderful welcome we received at this hotel. The young lady, Saye, I believe her name is, welcomed us so graciously and made us feel so at home. What a wonderful ambassador for the Marriott brand. Hotel was clean and comfortable Even upon checkout everyone was so nice. Stay here if you want great service and a good nights sleep. .

Nice room

Previous guests hair all over bathroom floor and towels. No ice bucket or bag in room. Bed uncomfortable. Breakfast was average. Had to pay for parking. Service was friendly. Safe area. Close to restaurants and shops.

Staff at this location are of the highest rated. Professionalism is beyond excellent!!!! Tracy and Montana will make your stay carefree!!!! Great location close to airport and and local businesses are available for all your travel needs!

Nice Hotel. Clean, modern and friendly staff. We stayed in a suite so it was extremely spacious. The staff provided a clean pack in play with clean sheets for our baby. Definitely the kind of place I’m looking for as an adult not skimping on price. Standard breakfast.

The Residence Inn Vancouver,WA is a very clean and well maintainedd hotel. The staff is extremly accommodating. The location is very good in that yarea ou can walk to many restaurants and shops. Very quiet hotel. Great hot water in the shower.

What a great place to stay when away from home! The hotel is located in a quiet location, but very close to shopping, dinning, and other services. I walked across a side street and found several good restaurants. The lobby and dinning area inside are spacious and very comfortable. This is a newer property and the rooms are very nicely appointed, the bathroom is comfortably large with a walk-in shower. I used the pool while I was there. It was warm enough and large enough to swim in. There was also a very nice fitness center that I looked at but didn't have time to use. Breakfast is about typical for similar hotels, but I have to say there was a bit more of a variety at this hotel. This is really a great spot to stay whether you're traveling alone on business, or with family on a vacation or outing in the area. Of all of the things that set one hotel apart from another, in my opinion, I will say that the people at this particular hotel are especially nice. I initially spoke with Sie (pronounced like 'Say'), and was impressed by her cordial customer service manner. After I was checked in, Sie called the room a little while later to ask how everything was, and if there was anything that I needed but perhaps had forgotten to bring. This seems to be the standard here, but it was different from what I've experienced in other hotels. I met several others of the staff, including Montana, Kat, and the manager, Erica. Everyone was very nice, not stuffy or stiff in their interactions. They all made me feel very welcome and appreciated, and I enjoyed my interactions with each of them. I like the hotel so much that I've decided to make it my regular hotel when I travel to the area to visit my family, as I often do. Tracy Newton is the Director of Sales and she was very helpful and kind. She assisted me to ensure that I was able to benefit from all applicable discounts for which I am eligible. At one point, when returning from having visited my son in the hospital nearby, Tracy said, "welcome home". That just sums up the entire a**osphere and experience at this wonderful hotel!
