Let's start with the room. It was advertised as renovated in 2026, but upon checking in, I found that only the walls and furniture had been repainted. Everything else was old. The air conditioner was old but still cooled well, though it was very noisy. A plus was that the owner had turned it on in advance, so the room was cool when we arrived! There was no refrigerator! I saw that the room next door (the first room on the right upon entering 🫱) had one, but the owner didn't give us a twin room with a fridge. We were in the second room on the right 🫱.
Moving on to the bathroom 🚻, the facilities were old, but the cleanliness was good. The showerhead 🚿 had strong water pressure, and the hot shower was very comfortable. The thick toilet paper was a plus!
The main reason for choosing Sansan Resort was its low price! So, any good aspects were a pleasant surprise! The money saved went towards activities and a big dinner, haha!
The last picture shows the public bus we took from the Vang Vieng train station, costing 40,000 kip per person, which dropped us directly at the hotel reception. The driver proactively added me on WeChat, and when it was time for us to leave, he was very punctual in picking us up from the hotel again. A truly great experience!

When we arrived we didn’t have to give our name or anything to get our room. The staff didn’t feel welcoming at all. For most of our stay the WiFi didn’t work and then it randomly started after 2 days. The room was not exactly like the pictures but was big and the bathroom was acceptable. Pool is nice but often has lots of bugs floating in it. Breakfast consisted of fruit that was often covered in flies or ants and rice or noodles. Would not recommended

A very strange check in experience. There was no one there to greet us. When we finally found someone to check us in they just asked how we booked and how many nights. Didn’t ask for names for passports, then showed us to a room. The room in question was somewhat similar to the pictures and a nice ish room but lacking some of the advertised features. The pool is nice, breakfast is meh. Overall a very average experience.

The rooms don't match the photos shown when booking! It almost feels like a scam. Instead of the beautiful furniture and details shown in the photos, everything in the room is cheap and outdated. The hotel grounds more or less match the description and photos, and the breakfast is decent. But the appearance and furnishings of the room were very disappointing! There are also a lot of mosquitoes on the hotel grounds, constantly flying into the rooms and reception/dining area.

We booked this knowing some of the reviews were not good and fully aware of what we were paying, so always take reviews with a pinch of salt. On arrival we were given our room, the bed was rock hard (never had anything like it), the room was in the top corner next to the road and we could hear chickens, people walking into the hotel and bikes/cars. Dreadful night sleep. In the morning we realized we had booked a Bungalow and so asked to be moved to what we had booked. We were allowed to select between 34 an 35. 35 was the better of the two. Bed was still rock hard but we were further from the noise. However the sink water did not drain it just poured onto the floor (worst thing I’ve ever experienced). By day 3 we had to ask for the room to be cleaned as wasn’t done every day. We had to ask for towels each day too. The breakfast was similar to other places in this price bracket.. eggs, toast and coffee from a packet. The pool was lovely and very clean and grounds were nice. We also rented bicycles which were great to explore some of the further away places. I think with some much needed TLC, a lick of paint here and there and more effort into cleaning this could be a great place to stay.
