If you want to be near the beach you can’t beat this hotel - just cross the street and you’re at one of the major public beaches. The hotel is in a residential area at the end of the Main Street in Venice but it is rather quiet. The downtown area is about a mile away. The rooms are clean and comfortable but could use some updating. There are no outlets next to the nightstands and only one behind the bed occupied by the lamps and clock. The TV in our room would not power off with the cable remote, so we had to unplug to turn off the backlight. The water in the area also has a strong sulfur odor, so be prepared when you are in the bathroom. WiFi was not the strongest in the room but was able to support some streaming. There is a minibar area with fridge and microwave that even has a toaster and a few dishes (a nice touch). Breakfast is mostly local pastries and cold items but the coffee is very good. We were here for an event so we did not take much advantage of the resort fee amenities.
