The hotel location is excellent. It’s just a 3-minute walk to the train and bus stations that go to Venice and the airport. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. The room was comfortable and clean, and reception service was okay. But one thing really annoyed me: I don’t understand why a 4-star hotel doesn’t provide a kettle in the room. I drink tea, and there was only a coffee machine available. The reception told me to get hot water from the bar, which is fine, but the hot water looked dirty and didn’t seem clean. Also, the curtains never fully closed, there was always a gap, so it didn’t feel fully private.

Good location, but disappointing service
The hotel is in a great location, close to the metro station. However, the breakfast staff seemed inexperienced, while we were eating, one of them placed a cleaning tray on our table and started cleaning the table right next to us. It was quite uncomfortable and not what you’d expect from a hotel breakfast experience.

Location is good. Breakfast spread well. Quick check in and check out. Only observation, no refilling of drinking water except 1st day and no arrangement of tea, only coffee.

Very friendly staff
The restaurant has excellent cuisine and a perfect traditional menu.
The chef was very kind together with Mrs. Oana to explain the dishes and advise impeccably on the raw material

The hotel is about 5-8 mins walk from the Mestre station which is convenient. There's an Asian supermarket nearby and opens until late, it is easy to grab cold drinks and snacks (we visited in June with heat wave in Italy). The hotel has a fitness centre which my husband loves it. If you would like to visit the main island, it needs to take a train from Mestre station to Santa Lucia station for about 10 mins. Unless you have the Trenitalia smartphone app to buy the train ticket online (Italo train does not run this route, Trainline app requires a relatively high handling charge), need to line up at the vending machine to buy the train tickets. There's a big restaurant opposite to the hotel which provides all day dining from breakfast to gelato. There are a few bus routes from Mestre to the airport, all stops are near to the hotel, you could choose the one with the right budget and duration. Be reminded to register to waive the Venice access fee (EUR5.00) if you plan to visit the main island during peak days, check with the hotel for details.

I recently stayed at the Royal Hotel Leonardo and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The location is perfect—just a short walk from public transport and close to many main attractions, yet peaceful enough for a good night’s sleep.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and great local recommendations. The room was clean, modern, and beautifully decorated with Venetian touches. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the daily housekeeping service.
Breakfast was fresh and offered a good variety, with delicious coffee to start the day. Overall, this hotel provided great value for the price. I would definitely recommend Royal Hotel Leonardo to anyone visiting Venice and would happily stay here again!

Leonardo Royal is located just 10 mins walk from the bus and train station making it an easy and convenient place to stay. Rooms are clean and bathroom is spacious. The reception also taught me an easier path to walk behind the hotel parallel to the train tracks for a smooth path to walk with my luggage to the bus station to go to the airport. Breakfast spread was good. it's my 3rd time staying here. Happy to recommend.
