The location is easy to find, just across the road is the seaside, just park your car and walk past the hotel. On the first day I drove to the beach, I was charged a parking fee of $10. You must know that the beach was very cold and windy around 6 o'clock. I stayed for an hour at most, and $10 was too expensive. The next day was to go to the beach. The room is large, and the bathroom is especially large. There are toiletries, but no mineral water. The bed is also big enough for a family of three. The breakfast is richer, and the scrambled eggs and bacon areas need to show the hotel meal coupons and someone will help you serve them. The amount is relatively small, and they look unhappy. Not far from the surrounding area, there are Macy’s, Target, a Chinese restaurant. The Chinese food tastes slightly American and a bit sweet. The cost of the three dishes adds up to US$50, which is quite expensive.

I am so disappointed in the Hiltons for allowing all the rooms to have pets. I don't care how clean the animal is and that you take a deposit. Animals leave hair and smells. Our room smelled a little when we first came in but smelt like cleaning chemicals. My husband went to bed right away and sat around for a while and I started sneezing. Then i thought a smelled pee. I went to bed. I woke up all night smelling pee and dog. then I got up to go to the bathroom and the carpet was wet. I guess they had just cleaned the floors and tried to get the smell out. It didn't work. It was disgusting. I woke up with a horrible headache, They did give us another room the next day that didn't smell like animals. Come on Hilton you need to designate certain rooms for animals.

The hotel should be an old hotel, and the facilities look quite old; the location is good and parking is free. The disadvantage is that the breakfast is too simple and not fresh. In the United States, this type of room is generally equipped with a microwave oven, but they do not have a microwave oven. It is very inconvenient for late guests to heat up a quick meal.

First time booking a stay using Trip and while the overall process for booking was easy, the stay at the hotel was a little lack-luster.
Prior to arrival, we didn't get any check-in information; I had a bit of trouble contacting the hotel to get this info. On my part though, I think I did mess up with not providing my contact info (apparently). I got a hold of front desk and the woman I talked to was super courteous and had apologized in advance for the delays. We were told that our room would be ready at 5pm instead of the opposed time at 4. We ended up arriving at 5pm anyway, so time wasn't a problem. When we arrived, everything was fairly clean except for a couple of towels that had brown stains on it. We were short on toilet paper, paper towels, and other small essentials. We were able to get these things the next morning, which was great. My other complaint was that some things were left behind; ie; someone left a pair of their Crocs, and some bar soap in the shower. Even though these things were minor problems to me, it definitely isn't enough to make me lose sleep over. Location: 10/10. 5 minute (or less) walk to the beach. I would definitely still book this place again as long as these issues are not an issue in the future.

We stayed here for a couple of nights for Memorial Day weekend. The ocean front suites we stayed in are on the first floor, which gave us a nice picnic area in front of our patio with a direct view of the sandy beach and ocean. We liked our room so much that we barely left it. The Ox and Ocean restaurant was only steps away, which made it really convenient to just order takeout and eat at our patio. The underground parking was also very convenient as it was just short flight of stairs or elevator ride to our room. Hotel staff was very courteous and accommodating to us when we requested a change of towels and toiletries during our stay. While we had some minor issues with the temperature controls in trying to keep the room cool at night, this was easily remedied by keeping the windows open and letting the cool breeze come in. Overall, you can't beat hearing watching and hearing the waves all day and night. We really enjoyed our stay here so much that we've booked another reservation again in a few weeks! Kudos to the staff at Zachari Dunes for an amazing experience!

There are not many parking spaces inside, the roadside can be stopped at the door. The hotel is in the old town, a small street, very close to the expressway, but not noisy, about 1 km from Ole, the cafe next door is good, the road There is a self-service barbecue on the opposite side, which is also very good. It’s good to have a break or a shopping stop.

We decided to go to Ojai for my wife's birthday on March 22, 2023. She thought it would be fun to stay in a place that was built the year she was born and so did I. The online photos and aesthetic are admittedly cool, but that where it ends. I get really peeved with a too cool for school” attitude in restaurants and other establishments in the hospitality space. That's this place. But aside from that vibe, there are HUGE issues with this “hotel” (motel really), chief of which are the PAPER THIN WALLS. Next is the bathroom. Remember. This renovation was done in 2020. So with Covid, wear and tear should be minimal by early 2023 when we visited. The bathroom door is made of particle board which was completely swollen and ruined by water damage from the shower that features a fitted glass wall that only covers half the stall. As a result water sprays all over the wall and floor and even if you try to use the bath mat, it's completely soaked after a shower. Poor, impractical design. The Daiken brand AC was also odd. I've used many mini-split systems, but this one did not feature a remote that operated as a thermostat. Sure, it had a temperature setting, but no readout out of what temperature the room was CURRENTLY at, so there is no way to know where to set the temp relative to that. The in-room coffee and tea consists of a kettle and instant coffee. No Nespresso or other coffee service found in other boutique hotels of this price range. I assumed they were encouraging us to come to the lobby to enjoy their coffee ”service” which features paper cups (okay fine) but no lids. Crazy. And Like seriously - do you think people aren't going to want to take their coffee away or back to the room? Where’s the kids?! Oh, and as a cherry on the top, add bad WiFi that only worked part of the time. Good thing our t-mobile data devices worked there. A cheap, ill-conceived cosmetic renovation does not a boutique motel make. Others have mentioned all of these things in prior reviews, so l'm not saying anything new here. Listen to them, and us. I don't know if there are better options in Ojai, but I know you should avoid the Capri.

It's the motel type.
Advantages: The room is large. There is breakfast. This breakfast is better than a motel hotel. Hot water is available at all times and homemade biscuits are available in the afternoon.
Disadvantages: poor cleaning and cobwebs on the lights.
I asked to check out at 11 o'clock. I checked out at 11:40. I was charged a $5 overtime fee.
The soundproofing is not good, but it is also a common problem in motels.

Excellent
GGuest UserThe rooms look exactly like the internet pictures; very clean and newly updated. Don't let the outside of the building fool you , the price is unbeatable and the room was perfect. Suggestions: rooms need coffee pots, darkening shades for front windows. Property is a five minute drive to the beach and 8 blks from historic downtown Ventura.
Pping wangThe breakfast is average and the environment is very good. The door is the seaside. The restaurant is just a few minutes' drive. Many restaurants in different countries recommend a Japanese restaurant on the side of the road. Very American-style Japanese food.
JJENNYYINGLEBreakfast is a normal American breakfast with leeks and fruit. The exterior is a motel, and the internal hygiene and management are upgraded. The cotton fabric is good and the toiletries are sufficient. Very good value for money. There seems to be a long whistle around the whistle, and I have to bicker from time to time. I will still choose here next time I come to Ventura.
GGuest UserAnybody that reads my hundred plus review will notice I'm very fair and seldom complain But in this case travelers must be warned . The attendants at this once lovely hotel admit they rarely if ever pick up the phone to take reservation then when the call defaults to third party site they have no intention of honoring any arrangement .We were promised and charged in advance for king suite yet when we arrived were told we had ordered a standard room with two queen beds .Being a reasonable person I pointed out that we had been charged for suite and were taking a lesser room we expected a lower rate , at this point the attendant for no reason said I called her ***** and she was calling the cops . WTH I said then she stated ” well you were about to call me a ***** so take the room or leave it and fight the discount out with the third party site .I asked to see the room and she said nope ! in her words I could wait for the manager but most likely they would rent the room before she got in .I asked if I could tenths room on a nightly basis she said nope I could fight that out with Expedia .i asked if I could get a quote for the room to show to Expedia again the answer was nope . When finally did see the manager she was as aggressive as the attendant .Rather than hello she greeted me with ” oh your the guy trying to cause trouble ” She did finally admit I was over paying by 250 dollars a night for the room but would give me no paper work to prove it . Potential customers should also be warned this is a three story hotel with no elevators the main restaurant which is temporarily closed has been fenced off eye sore for over 2 years and the free breakfast is served on the farthest end of the property and in my opinion not worth the walk .I won't say the property is in poor condition as the gardens and rooms are not horrible . The attitude of the staff is appalling and I see?from other reviews my experience isn't uncommon so beware if you don't get a reservation directly from the hotel run from this place they seem to take special pleasure in ripping travelers off .
GGuest UserIt is an old motel but it has been looked after really well. The rooms were clean and there was a lot of space. Not too far from the beach either. Definitely worth the price.
