Room not really clean, mattress dismantled without mattress cover or topper. Flat pillows. We paid 25€ extra, for bringing a chihuahua, for a room that paid 63€ for one night.

Hotel grande camera non pulitissima prezzi molto alto rispetto al servizio che danno. C’è la piscina non agibile e non hanno messo nulla su Internet. Colazione devo dire ottima

Very difficult in reviewing this hotel, as in that we really enjoyed it but also found it quite odd. First off- it’s not really promoted anywhere, has different names, lack of reviews and we wasn’t even sure we had the right hotel when we found it. The staff are quiet, not that informative and it’s like this hotel is in the middle of nowhere - when in fact it is in a prime spot, 5 mins from the beach. The hotel is very clean, modern and has excellent air con- which was pleasing after a few hot days in other parts of Italy. Room is small but has good wardrobe space, a very clean bathroom and excellent shower. It is situated across the road from a river, which has interesting types of wildlife. We had breakfast one day, €13 a person, which was quite steep, we also had coffee one morning. Apart from that the bar is closed, there is no shop and the pool is also closed. The location as mentioned is good, it is recommended that the town to the right of Viagreggio is nearer, 5 min walk and has some very good restaurant and bar options. There is a CoOp 5 mins away. The hotel also does not have a partnership with any beaches, which is a shame. It is 10 mins in a taxi from the train station and we got the bus going home. Overall with a bit of confidence and promotion, this would be a fantastic hotel, however I’m not sure it intends to be that. Despite that we enjoyed our stay

Been there with work, during the carnival. Stayed in 4 hotels during almost 3 weeks in Viareggio and this was actually second best. It has too many bad reviews for how it actually is and what else you can find. I strongly believe that one should avoid tiled floors during the cold season and here you get nice rooms with wooden floors. They're not flawless and all the balcony doors are buggered. Most likely because they have a weird opening procedure and people force them too often. Had the room changed because of one that left a crack open. The breakfast is pretty bad but the service is good and the parking and time to the motorway are very good. So yeah, good, helpful staff. I stayed 5 nights. I'd stay again if I wouldn't find a room at my favorite.
Response from Property: Thanks Lotekro, so nice of you!

Considering the price we paid for this hotel I find it was really poor. Room overlooked the main road and I couldn’t sleep because of the noisy cars. Balcony door really difficult to open not easy at all. Mattresses were terrible needs changing. Breakfast could have been better also.

Upon arriving we were very surprised and disappointed that the pool was closed, apparently for covid reasons. The receptionist told us it was announced when we booked. That’s not the case, only spa & fitness were announced as closed. We chose this hotel precisely because of the pool. Then, there was no coffee making facility in the room. Apparently again because of covid. Well, what about the extremely disgusting and sticky light switches ? What about the remote control ? The rooms weren’t super clean either. We are highly disappointed about our stay and the bad customer service received. We have sent two emails about this but never got an answer back.

We we t because of the Mercure name. The hotel is understaffed. Its listjng is misleading. The pool s closed because of Covid. You have to ask for room facilities and the 3rd part onside catering Is barely adequate.. The simple food we ordered was OK,

The room was ok, but otherwise the pictures are lying. It’s not nearly as new and shiny as it seems. We got a room on ground floor and only one chair (no table) on the outside even though we ordered a room with balcony and a view. When we asked for an other room they said this was what we had paid for. The pool is closed due to corona restrictions, but other pools in the area are open. The "private" beach costs 30 euro to get an umbrella and two beds.

This hotel was a disappointment from the start. Unable to get through on the phone for days when trying to book. Booked through the website with a comment that we were travelling with two small dogs. We have stayed in many Mercure hotels and this one does not compare. The beds like concrete! Mentioned in many reviews the light switches in the rooms sticky and dirty. The beds in an Ibis budget are far better than these. There are no facilities during the day after breakfast. The bar only opens at night. The furniture on the balcony is old with paint falling off. The towel radiator was old and rusty and no drink making facilities in the room. No kettle etc. This was not a cheap hotel with the booking costing 380€ for 4 nights. You expect better for this money and from this brand. There are many things I could continue about the place. The staff work hard but only look after certain guests. There was three tables sat outside drinking from the bar. Two with Italians one was my wife and I. The two tables were given nibbles to eat at the tables while we watched but nothing was brought to us. I normally leave a tip to the room cleaners but the cost for the dogs per night meant that I could not allow myself to. The dogs cost an extra 50€ PER NIGHT!!! For what. L?? There was no extra mess or cleaning. They say pet friendly but with this price they try to remove people to take pets. We are responsible dog owners and ALWAYS clean up after our dogs but again no trash bins for the waste anywhere. So other owners don’t even try to clean up!! The grass around the hotel is used for a a dog toilet by any other owners crazy enough to pay the cost for them in the hotel!! 200€ for two small dogs for 4 nights. Is a crime. The hotel does not want dog owners obviously The only positive is the location

Ok with the covid restrictions the pool must be out of use but it was full of stagnant water, and there was no security gate to stop small children falling in. Hotel very old looking and rusty Carpark full of rubbish Broken shower Scruffy bathroom with broken toilet roll holder No complimentary drink of any kind No water in mini bar and not stocked as per price list ! No room service after 9pm No even a coffee drinks machine in room or public areas Curtains torn and tatty Switches sticky and unpleasant to use. Corridor dark probably to hide the filthy carpet Restaurant closed at 9pm. We were the first ones in and items sold out. Request for parking information sent via ***********, specifically asking about EV charging ignored and no answer received (and no ev parking of course!) And this is a 4 star hotel? Priced at 200€ a night this hotel was the worst hotel I have stayed in for many years. It would have been expensive at 80€. Never again.

Don't let the photos fool you, the breakfast isn't bad but try to get I 1 minute befor 7 and you got no chance, the room lighting is shocking everyone of my colleagues complained, beds are terrible thin and uncomfortable, We all had to ask for additional bedding as I was like sleeping under a piece of toilet paper, virtually no where for storage of clothing if on a long trip, We were stay in Massa but very busy and had to travel 40 minutes and this is the only place with rooms??
