Second time staying at A'Zambezi River Lodge. Just like the first time, it was a wonderful experience. Great value for money. Great view of the Zambezi. And great food, too - best food we'd during our stay in Vic Falls. Highly recommend.

Excellent lodge right by the Zambezi river. Get the room with a view and the main garden and river will be right there- we saw bushbucks and warthogs on the garden in the early morning- adorable! Our room was standard size, and they did an evening turn down service with mosquito spray and they closed the mosquito curtains which made us feel very safe. No mosquito bites were detected! Lovely stay- we recommend!

Great service from friendly staff and peaceful setting. Food was delicious and sufficient range. Activities were easy to arrange and the free shuttle was useful.

The hotel needs major renovation work. The room was stuffy and bathroom very old. However,the lady at the reception was very nice and helpful. She arranged for a taxi for us (driver named Clifford) who took us around at a reasonable price.

The hotel is located on the banks of the Zambezi River. It is one of the furthest from the center of Victoria Falls, so in the afternoon if you want to go for a walk the only option is a taxi or your own car. From the hotel to the center or the entrance to the Victoria Falls park it is 10 minutes and the taxi charges about 15 dollars. The rooms all face the garden areas, they are very quiet and there is no noise. The beds are short. A person taller than 1.85 cm has their feet hanging off the bed. All the beds are the same, so me being 1.88m tall it wasn't too comfortable. The bathroom is large, the water pressure is very good. You have the option of requesting a mini fridge at no extra charge in the room. Breakfast if you don't have it included costs $30 for the buffet, which is quite an exaggerated price for a breakfast. The hotel offers lunch and dinner service. I have shown the menu so you can get an idea of ​​what it offers. The hotel has a shuttle bus service to the city center and the entrance to Victoria Falls Park 4 times a day, the first at 9:15 am and the last at 4 pm. To return to the hotel the last service is a little before 5 pm I thought about using the pool, but they close it at 6 pm because at that time there are animals that approach it. In any case, the pool was always dirty during my stay. There were all kinds of bugs and “things” floating around that didn't make it very pleasant to swim in. Perhaps due to the fact that some animals use it too. A shame. If I returned to Victoria Falls, I would stay better in a hotel closer to the center, so I could walk there and walk around, since there is nothing in the hotel area. The time to leave the room is at 10 am, it is very early, generally in almost all hotels in the world it is at 12 noon. In my case they let me use a courtesy room until 11:30 am. From the hotel to the airport the taxi charges 30 dollars, but I got a taxi that charged me 20 that I met in the city and arranged for him to do the transfer service. From the airport to the hotel they charge per person: One person $30, two people $15. You can request the service from the hotel. The hotel staff is very friendly, everyone is friendly. I stayed here on a business trip. This hotel is located on the banks of the Zambezi River, a little far from Victoria Falls and the city center, so you will need to take a taxi. All the staff warned me that it is dangerous to go outside the hotel after dark, but when I asked if I wanted to see the hippos, they called my room at night and I had a lot of fun.

This hotel is great clean tidy well kept and lovely friendly staff. Melody washington in restaurant really friendly always said hello helpful made our day. Breakfast menu varied with ample choice lunch could get all day evening meal were either buffet 30 dollars each which we had one night but preferred main menu nothing wrong with buffet plenty of choice great drinks prices not too expensive. We so enjoyed our stay at the A'Zambezi River Lodge. The location was amazing and we watched the hippos stroll the grass each evening and during the day it was the warthogs and monkeys. We loved sitting down by the Zambezi River at @ 5:00 and watching the dinner cruises go by. Our Bartender Remigio knew when we were coming to get our preferred beer and wine ready and bring them to us in the chairs we placed down by the river. Prissy was a competent, friendly, and knowledgeable waitress in both the restaurant as well as the bar. When we arrived we were disappointed that our room had a garden view almost as far away from the restaurant, bar, and office. This was a disappointment but perhaps that is the category that our "package" covered even though what we paid for the rooms was much higher than online travel sites such as ******* etc. Also, we did not have a refrigerator and the screen was stuck and not movable and the deck slider did not work. Upon our calling, we quickly had someone come and fix those things. Our room was clean and well-supplied but I did find it questionable how we were each only given one water bottle a day. The water there was advised to not drink out of the tap so the bottled water was essential for travelers. The Receptionist/Cashier Nokukhanja was extremely competent and able to help in any way needed. She was very impressive. The breakfasts and dinners were good. Our breakfast was included with the charge for the room and well worth it. Heritage Expeditions Tours Desk just off the main office is run by Adrian. He seems to be able to arrange almost anything you might want in a tour--and do it quickly and at a very reasonable price. We brought up a complex trip to Livingstone that required a guide to get us to the bridge and another to take care of us on the other side of the bridge in Zambia plus taking care of the details of getting us back and forth as well as through the immigration process. It was almost as if the guides were "tag teaming" to get us through the complexities. I wish we had used Adrian and Heritage Expeditions for all our Tours in the area. They are remarkable. It was a good stay--especially made so by the wonderful people working there.
