Lokuthula Lodge

We stayed in two cottages (duplex style) for five days - great experience for our group. The set up was comfortable with an upstairs loft bedroom and main floor bedroom, and a lower level sitting area with kitchen. We did not need to utilize the kitchen but having a sitting area was good. Our rooms were adjoining so that was convenient for our group. We enjoyed being able to walk to the Boma for breakfast, or a slightly longer walk to the Lodge. All arrangements for any transportation that we asked for help with were accomplished easily. We appreciated the ease of having the shuttle bus at our disposal as well. Great value and enjoyed our stay! Thank you Lokuthula!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lokuthula Lodge in Victoria Falls. Our two-bedroom chalet, complete with a kitchen, provided plenty of space and was well suited to a comfortable and relaxing stay. While the chalet itself was a little dark and somewhat dated, it was clean and serviced daily by friendly staff. One of our favourite aspects of the lodge was the beautiful bush setting. We spent many enjoyable hours on the patio watching the wildlife that wandered through the grounds, especially the warthogs, which became regular and entertaining visitors. The location was excellent, with the courtesy shuttle providing easy and convenient access to Victoria Falls town whenever we wanted to explore. A major advantage of staying at Lokuthula was having full access to the facilities and restaurants at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. We particularly enjoyed dining there and loved the lively Dinner and Drum Show at the Boma. Overall, Lokuthula Lodge offers a comfortable stay in a wonderful natural setting, with excellent amenities and easy access to the many attractions of Victoria Falls.

The staff at Lokuthula are absolutely amazing 👏 From the day we arrived there till the day we left we were treated like royalty. We were in awe of the way every person went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. Our trips to every place we went was made so memorable

We have stayed in Dec for the past 3 years at Lokuthula. Its always of a high standard, safe, secure. The animals walking freely around the lodges are always a highlight. The team are excellent.

We always enjoy staying at Lokuthula Lodge and this visit was no exception. The setting is peaceful, the lodges are comfortable, and it’s a perfect base for Vic Falls. The Boma dinner was the absolute highlight of the trip – great atmosphere, delicious food, and a truly memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back again.

Lokuthula Lodge was an amazing place to stay, and we were extremely well looked after throughout our visit. The reception staff were warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the services and activities available in the area. The lodge offers a truly private and peaceful space, with no interference from neighbours, making it perfect for relaxation. Guinea fowls will happily keep you company, adding a lovely natural soundtrack to the surroundings. Transport between Lokuthula Lodge and Victoria Falls Safari Suites is conveniently provided via the Boma van, and the Boma experience itself is an absolute must. Victoria Falls Safari Suites also offers incredible views of wildlife, which adds to the overall magic of the stay.

Lokuthula Lodges are well located just outside of Victoria Falls - far enough away from constant noise of helicopters flying over the falls. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the receptionist was very helpful and welcoming. Our hut was charming and a generous size with three bedrooms, all with very comfortable beds and crisp, clean sheets. Some of the huts seemed to be being renovated but ours was quite dated. Particularly the bathroom and kitchen. We were offered to move to a suite however the price difference was significantly higher and we weren't convinced of the value. The walls in the living area are canvas and open up to an outside bbq area. A nice idea but there was also a security grill which needed to be kept closed (for the monkeys) and it felt a little like being behind prison bars. The windows have no security or mosquito screens so they needed to be kept closed as well. Somehow a small squirrel/possum sort of animal found its way into our daughter's mosquito net in the middle of the night and woke us all up! We were grateful for the mosquito cream provided as we went through our own very quickly The breakfast served at the restaurant was delicious and very generous. The staff there were also wonderfully welcoming. The free shuttle from the main hotel into Victoria Falls was convenient and a delight. Our tip - do not miss the day spa! It really is a treat. So professional and relaxing. All in all, we would recommend this accommodation but suggest choosing a suite or staying in the hotel until renovations are complete.

Gradually every day we had more bites. Complained and had to spray every night. Bloody sheets every night from bugs. My baby had fevers, had to take her to the clinic then hospital. At the hospital in Cape Town, we were told it was a combination of mosquito and bed bug bites. Reached out to the travel agency Travel Associates Carrington and James and then Adventure World Travel with a purpose for a refund for all activities missed which we received. However, two month later still waiting on the refund for the accommodation. We had three bungalows all the problems. Bushbaby in one and mosquito/bed bugs in one and a scorpion in another. Loved the drum night and Victoria falls trip.
