We had an upgrade and the room was excellent. The reception was extremely friendly and helpful. It lid just within minutes of walk to the fisherman’s wharf and beacon hill garden.

James Bay in Victoria is a wonderful walking around experience, no rental car needed. And at the centre of our stays is the welcoming and home style experience in this still going strong 120 year old hotel. The attached and very reasonable priced pub, restaurant, and bookable party room with long-serving staff we know well are a key part of it

Super friendly place to stay in Victoria. Easy walk to downtown and harbour area and the park. Pub and restaurant on site. Parking available. There are some stairs to get into the front door. Roy at the reception was super friendly and full of useful information. We would stay here again.

We were completely delighted at the comfort and level of service we had. We had a project to do which was to receive our yacht getting offloaded from a freighter shipped from Europe. There were many needs and we were unsure exactly when things were going to happen. The staff was accommodating and thoughtful.
