A very relaxed atmosphere in the garden suites. Awesome staff! Property is rather dated. No sound proofing at all for noisy neighbours. Showers not user friendly. Best customer service with staff who go above and beyond! Close to downtown. Great walk along the beach! Really good food and Beer!

My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at Spinnakers Heritage guest house (we live in Victoria). From the moment we arrived at the front desk until we checked out, we were dealt with in a kind and professional way. An honourable mention to the young woman (Dana) who was at the front desk when we checked in. When I mentioned to her that it was our anniversary, she said "Congratulations!" and an hour later, a beautiful bottle of sparkling wine and a bag of chocolates were brought by her to our door. Also thanks to the manager at the time who signed off on that! The breakfast the next morning was delicious and the view terrific. Definitely a recommend!

Aside from arriving to find they did not have me registered under my name and then giving me the keys to a room that was already occupied, our stay was pleasant and all the staff quite friendly. Convenient location and good food at the pub.

Spinnaker's is obviously operating on its reputation, not the current food quality. I have dined at this restaurant numerous times in the past and always had a good experience, but not this time. One of our party was celebrating her birthday that day and mine was the next week. Our party of 3 ordered a bowl of clam chowder each and we were sharing a mac and cheese with bacon. The chowder was watery and had small bits of clams in it. At least, I think that's what they were. The mac and cheese was dry with a few small bits of bacon. They brought one chocolate for the birthday girl. When she asked for a knife so that she could share it with me, a second chocolate was grudgingly brought. I bit it in half and shared with my husband. We brought this up after the fact and the manager informed us that they typically made their chowder more runny than is customary and that they weighed their clams for each batch. He said that he personally reviewed the mac and cheese and found that it was up to standard. Obviously, his standards are significantly lower than ours. He totally brushed our comments aside and was patronizing and dismissive. There are plenty of good restaurants in Victoria. This is no longer one of them.

My wife and I stayed in suite 6 for 8 days and loved it! Real fireplace, covered patio, steps from top notch brewpub, and I don't say that lightly. Food is fabulous, but beer is even better 👌. I recommend a pulled cask ESB. free parking, songhees trail in either direction at door of pub, I even saw an otter run across driveway on stormy day. Oh, and bike paths and bike shop next door. Cheers 🍻

Good Morning. Cindy and I lived in Esquimalt for many years and would use a stay at your suites as a staycation. We have stayed in many of your suites including the small house, the steam shower room 4 and in most of the suites in the four unite building behind the restaurant. We always enjoyed our stay and the experience. About 2.5 years ago we moved up Island and have stayed at your establishment and two others on our frequent trips to the Victoria Area. Our last trip, December 28, has left us feeling very dissatisfied with several aspects of our stay. One of the nice extras about Spinnakers experience was that in the suites there were some complimentary Spinnakers beverages in the fridge which were always enjoyable. It was also a treat to have a complimentary breakfast in your restaurant. This trip no beverages, no breakfast and the charge for the room was up almost 100 dollars from our last stay. The room we were staying in was very dated. It had no dishwasher and not even a dish drying rack for washed dishes. The fridge barely kept anything cool. There was a warning not to use more than one electrical device or the breaker would be tripped. The supplied French Press is a very antiquated method of brewing coffee with the one premeasured coffee allotment not enough to make a decently strong brew of coffee. A room that has dishes and glasses for 4 people should have more than one ration of coffee and 2 teabags - one breakfast tea and one flavored tea. The most disturbing aspect of our trip this time was the huge concern for safety while walking around the unit and the grounds. Our suite had a front door out to the street, but we were unable to locate the light switch for the porch light. An even bigger concern is that there is no safety handrail on the front porch steps. The wooden walkway leading to the back, main, door has a section where the wooden tread is either broken or rotten and broken. The stairs down to the parking spot have no safety handrail while the actual parking spot has uneven pavement, rocks and roots and other items that are a walking safety hazard. It is very dangerous. I am surprised that no guests have contacted the municipality safety inspectors and requested a review. After discussing our recent trip Cindy and I have reached the decision that this will be our last visit. The other two establishments we have used are newer, cleaner, safer, have more amenities and are considerably safer having handrails and even walking surfaces. They are also less expensive.

Nice old building for the comfortable room. Good parking. Uneven sidewalk near restaurant entrance a hazard at night.
