Die Frage, ob die Unterkunft die Erwartungen erfüllt hat, hängt in diesem Fall SEHR stark vom Blickwinkel des Betrachters ab: Das "Parkhotel 1970" ist quasi ein Themenhotel, absolut unverändert erhalten aus den Siebzigern - ich selbst fand das für eine Nacht mal ganz geckig, meine Partnerin jedoch hatte jedoch ein heftiges Problem damit, dass WIRKLICH alles unverändert erhalten geblieben war ... was speckige, abgeranzte Polstermöbel im Haupthaus ebenso einschloss wie die Gerüche der Siebziger ... Definitiv positiv ist, dass die Bäder (zumindest in den Bungalows) vor wenigen Jahren modernisiert wurden. Auch der kostenlose Parkplatz ist ein Pluspunkt. Der durchaus vorhandene Charme des Hauses wird dort zum Ärgernis, wo Einrichtungen einfach nur schmutzig, verschlissen und kaputt sind.

Das Hotel ist durch und durch 1970, eine einmalige und fuer uns beeindruckende Erfahrung. Nach einem freundlichen Empfang des Eigners wurden wir zur gebuchten James Last Suite geleitet. Timetunnel: ich fuehlte mich in eines der Wohnzimmer der Eltern von Jugendfreunden aus den 70ern versetzt. Die Bilder sprechen fuer sich, alles original und angereichert mit vielen Sammlerstuecken aus der Zeit. Wer allerdings hier Komfort von 2023 angereichert mit 70er Deko erwartet hat das Konzept nicht verstanden. Der Charme des Alten und teilweise skurril anmutendem Designs macht den Reiz aus. Das Dinner kann man nur ausserhalb einnehmen, danach lädt die urige Lounge zum Chillen ein. Da viele Teile des Hotels praktisch ungenutzt sind ist dies ein Paradies fuer Photographen. Einzig die Getränkekarte koennte noch etwas ausgiebiger sein.

The time spent in this hotel was an amazing experience. It was the first time being here, but I’ve felt I know this place for ages, as decorations, furniture, even home appliances and electronic devices seem to have been borrowed straight from the “That 70’s show”. It is like a museum, very comfortable museum, with very friendly staff, always there to help. Also, the location is great, a quiet place with fresh air and amazing nature. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone wanting not only a nice break from a busy life, but an outstanding chance to live a piece of history.

It’s supposed to be a 1970s throwback experience but in reality is a dumping ground for 1970s kitsch with no sense of design. Behind the veneer is a dilapidated building with some seriously dodgy looking wiring. Currently family run by a family with no understanding of hospitality whose priority is their small children. Inadequately staffed. No food in the evening and lucky if anyone available at the bar. On our day of departure we were left waiting by the mother whose priority was to take the kids to school and the only way we could get her feckless husband to check us out was by relentlessly ringing the hand bell on reception after half an hour of waiting which finally got the lazy oaf out of bed at 9.15am. One small bottle of body wash provided on arrival, not replenished in 4 days, swimming pool closed. No good restaurants in the village so had to drive every evening to Michelstadt to eat. Amazed if they aren’t out of business in 6 months.

Zwischen Miltenberg und Michelstadt kann man sich hier 1A in die 1970iger Jahre zurückversetzen lassen und abends einen Whisky an der Bar trinken mit Freunden. Das Hallenbad, der schöne Garten und die grosse Anlage ist auch super. Sehr empfehlenswert.
