Hacienda Tamarindo

It's hard to come up with the words for a place this good. They simply do everything right! Without being pretentious, it is a laid back but classy place. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace was great. Each day we purchased the packed lunch and along with the provided cooler and chairs headed out to explore the fabulous beaches. The pool was super clean and refreshing. The staff left us alone but was super responsive when we needed something. Just one example, we got our jeep so muddy, I was worried we might incur a cleaning fee. I asked housekeeping for a bucket and rag which they happily provided but then a guy on staff saw what we were doing and came to help. He got a hose and told us we could go to our room or the pool and he would take care of it. We returned a very clean car.

I want to say that this property was very good. The hospitality was lovely all around. There are beach towels and chairs to use for free or rent. There is a snack bar. The room A/C is solid. Also, they have a menu for breakfast everyday. However, understand this is not a sterile, pre-fab city hotel. This is more like a Bed & Breakfast on a remote island, and that's what you should expect. Puerto Rico is hot, humid and has flying bugs/mosquitos, so your powerful room A/C and bug spray will become your friends. Also, go to sleep at a reasonable hour because there are roosters all through Vieques and they crow very early. All of this ambiance and environment is very much worth getting away from the grind, crowdedness, and smog of a big city, but just be ready for that difference. Within these parameters I think the staff did a great job of making me feel welcome and in professional hands. I also thank the staff for the delicious breakfast everyday and reasonably priced snacks.

We felt very well cared for during our 4 night stay in Vieques at this lovely hotel. The check in staff was so helpful and accommodating (wish we could remember her name, perhaps Maya) and gave us a great welcome tour with lots of tips. All of the little extras like having beach equipment, coolers, towels, and snacks/drinks available were great. The room (Casita 1, separate from the main building) was clean and a/c worked well. The bed and pillows were a little hard for our liking and several windows without curtains, along with the roosters, made for early mornings, but we are ok with that so we could get to the beaches sooner. They may want to provide some additional window coverings though. The patio had a lovely view of the sea and the horses and we tried to sit on it when we could, but beware, the mosquitoes are plentiful and vicious! Bring repellant and use the room spray they provide whenever you leave the room. Breakfast was hearty and well cooked, not a ton of variety but very good. And they will help arrange for earlier breakfasts when needed for a tour or departure - overall they were super accommodating to our needs and time frame. Location was nice, just a short 5-7 min drive to Esperanza.

A beautiful setting, comfortable accommodations, and most of all - excellent service. From the delightful breakfast service to local recommendations, to attentive responses to requests, the warm welcome and friendly professionalism made us feel well taken care of and worry free. We had a family emergency while at the Hacienda Tamarindo and the staff went over and above to help out with transportation and anything else we needed. I can't wait to return next year for another week's visit.

The culinary experience at Hacienda Tamarindo extends beyond evening dining, ensuring a positive start to each day. The hacienda's proximity to town was another perk, making it easy to explore Vieques' local restaurants and add a touch of variety to our dining experiences. And let's not forget the pool – a clean and well-maintained oasis that provided the perfect respite after a day of island exploration. In conclusion, Hacienda Tamarindo creates a complete retreat experience. From the carefully curated amenities to the convenient beach equipment rental and its close proximity to town, every detail is designed to ensure an exceptional and memorable stay in Vieques.

A lovely gem in Vieques. The hotel is stylish and comfortable. Pool, honor bar, and breakfast were all excellent. So nice to have a cooler and chairs ready for the beach. Beautiful views of the ocean and a short drive to anything you want to do. A friend recommended this and I told her it was a home run! We stayed five nights.

We spent seven nights here. We were welcomed by management with joyful enthusiasm. They cater to travelers needs and go out of the way to make you comfortable. We stayed in the Casita Linda that has two bedrooms, full kitchen and full fridge. Very handy for a group or family setting. Do not, really do not, skip their breakfast! It is wonderful. The staff are very quick and so very nice. They have laundry service very affordable and a beautiful swimming pool area. All around a great place with wonderful staff.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at the Hacienda Tamarindo. The grounds and the location are breathtakingly beautiful, with the view of the Caribbean water, the pool, and the tamarind tree right in the middle of the building. The staff was so kind and helpful and provided very attentive service. It was so lovely to wake up each morning and go upstairs to a fresh cooked breakfast served to us. Through their honor system, you can access an array of drinks and snacks and anything you’d need for the beach (beach umbrellas, chairs, sunscreen…). The room was comfortable and everything was very clean and well maintained. It could only be better if they provided ear plugs because the local roosters do start making noise at 5am. It was a truly delightful stay and we can’t wait to go back!

We love Vieques! It is a wonderful island to visit. Hacienda Tamarindo is a very nice, unique hotel to stay at. We thought we were getting two rooms with ocean views, but perhaps with all the phone calls that happened in the fall to reserve the rooms there was a miscommunication, as we only had one room with an Oceanview. Both rooms were clean, the pool is lovely. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is close to downtown Esperanza. all in all a great place to stay.
