The lodge is recovering from the last cyclone that went through Vilanculos. We had a great time, despite a few cosmetic issues that they were working on whilst we were there. The lodge is 10km from Vilanculos and quite remote, which means that you are not harrassed by vendors on the beach, which is fantastic; but it also means that you have to have a 4x4 to go anywhere or hire a transfer. The chefs at the lodge are excellent and able to conjure up delicious dishes from locally sourced fresh fish and other produce. Mario, Reuben and John were on point in the waitering depar**ent and Anyway was extremely resourceful at front desk. All the staff and the owner Dona Anna were extremely welcoming to our family and looked after our toddler with great patience and care. On the activities side, do not miss a trip to the islands with Steve in his powerboat Malambo, he was an exceptional guide on the water. Together with his wife Ninon and the deck hand/chief spotter Alex, they made our trip unforgetable with three Dugong and one Turtle sightings in the space of half an hour - with great respect being shown to the marine life, not crowding or harrassing them. Lunch on Benguera, walking in the dunes on Bazaruto with all the pink crabs and swimming in pristine ocean waters made this boat trip a true highlight of our holiday.

We had an amazing stay at the Villas. Thank you to Anna and her professional team. We had an experience of a lifetime going out on the boat to Santa Carolina. Thank you to Steve the skipper and Perdo the helper who made it a day that we will never forget.

In need of urgent maintenance, it is a beautiful place but the conditions leave a lot to be desired. There are a lot of things missing... more varied food, breakfast is very poor, there are no basic necessities such as a simple Band-Aid, there is no shampoo, There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms and what is available at the reception is very weak and you always have to ask to connect...etc etc. I really needed someone capable of driving The lady is very helpful but that's all there is to it There is a lot to to do

We stayed for 3 nights, the road into there is a short 15 minutes 4x4 out of town, make sure you ask the owner for directions do not follow google :-). Very nice complete lodge with great rooms right on the bay, great restaurant!! We booked two day trips to the bazaruto archipel with the neighbor Steve. It was amazing !! Do not miss that !!

We had an incredible stay at Villas do Indico in Vilanculos, Mozambique. The staff's warm welcome, delicious food, and exceptional rooms made our experience truly enjoyable. The highlight was the boat trip to Santa Carolina Island with Ninon and Steve. Steve's expertise as a skipper led us to encounter dolphins and turtles, and snorkeling revealed a vibrant array of fish species. The lunch on the rocks, overlooking the ocean, was a breathtaking experience. Steve's knowledge and dedication ensured our comfort throughout the trip. I highly recommend the boat trip with Ninon and Steve – a truly memorable adventure! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed at Villas do Indico for one night, the place is magical. Very quiet and peaceful in front of the sea. Room is very well decorated and spacious and the bed very comfortable. The only negative points is the wifi very bad everywhere (we booked the night before our long trip back to Jobourg because we had to book/check a few things before departure but couldn’t unfortunately). Also no hot shower when we woke up around 7am.

Tudo excelente durante a nossa estadia, alimentação, recepção, quartos...

This review is hard for me to write because we did have a good time here. The views are stunning and the beach is almost deserted so it's very peaceful. Some of the staff (Paulino, Mario and John in particular) were really helpful and friendly. However, the hotel has serious issues and some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced, which I wish I knew before I booked. I'll start with the biggest problem we experienced. On our last night, it rained heavily. We woke up to a terrible flood in our room and our belongings being soaked. We were up half the night worrying about the huge amount of water coming through the roof and moving our stuff around so it wasn't destroyed. We went to the manager the next morning and she laughed and said "these things happen, I cannot control the weather". We were very unhappy so she offered to wash and dry our clothes but we were leaving that morning so it wasn't possible. She didn't offer us any other compensation and said it had happened to the other guests, which we then found out was not true. We looked at the roof and could see there were patches that had clearly been damaged in the earlier flood and not repaired properly, but we were still given this room and not so much as warned when a storm was forecast. Completely unacceptable. Other issues we experienced - the hotel is listed as 4 star online but is actually 3 star when you arrive. When we booked it said there was a TV in every room with satellite channels, but our room didn't have one. We asked whether any room had a TV because we also couldn't get WiFi in the room, we were told there were no TVs anywhere. This was fine until other guests told us they had TVs. We asked the owner/manager and she tried to insist that wasn't true but finally admitted on our last day that the TV in our room had been removed due to flood damage earlier in the year. Honestly it was the principle of her lying about it to our faces that annoyed us more than anything. Shortly after the flooding incident our taxi to the airport was late and when we complained the manager laughed and said "don't get worked up about these things". We said it was a combination of a number of problems and she just kept smiling and saying "OK, put it in the review. Write it in your comment." I was honestly shocked at her attitude considering we had stayed there for 6 days, spent lots of money in the hotel and been nothing but friendly to all the staff. There were also some things that others have mentioned - it is very isolated so once you arrive you are stuck there and will not be able to visit the town at all, unless you have a 4x4. This means that you need to eat in the hotel's restaurant every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it's not cheap in comparison to local prices. The menu changes every day but as a vegetarian it was quite limited. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and no drinking water provided so all of that is extra too. There is nowhere to
