This was a lovely place to stay. The amazing house is set in beautiful gardens and you are made to feel really welcome. The house is partly museum and has many points of interest. Andreas and his staff were really helpful. They swapped our room so that we didn’t have to carry our cases up too many stairs. Our rooms were really comfortable. The gardens were amazing. Lots of places to sit in and out of the sun. There is a beautiful greenhouse and vegetable beds. We didn’t like the look of the swimming pool from the photos but it was glorious. Breakfasts were plentiful, varied and delicious. Thank you. Thank you too for the packed breakfast that you gave us because of our early start. There was an old cellar where drinks were available with an honesty box. Also two good restaurants within easy walking distance. Thank you for such a delightful stay.

Preciosa casa, gente encantadora, una pena que el brunch sea tan pobre y no acorde a su precio. Una buena idea mal ejecutada a la hora de sentarse a la mesa. Ni zumo de naranja, ni fruta, por mencionar algo sencillo, sólo agua con limón y una sangría aguada. Queso y embutidos en lonchas, cual merienda de colegio, picos resesos, lo más sofisticado una quiche sin más. Los postres : croissant, bizcocho y donuts, normalitos , y sólo dos tartas que tampoco enamoraban. Ni una copa de cava, ni de Oporto… Un desayuno corriente

El paraíso tiene muchas formas y, sin duda, Villa Idalina es una de ellas. Para los amantes del Arte es un museo de artes decorativas (el mobiliario, la forja, la piedra tallada, los azulejos, la carpintería...), para los amantes del paisajismo y los jardines históricos es un vergel (con árboles centenarios, fuentes, un invernadero...), para cualquier persona es un trocito de cielo. Gracias Susana y Andrés por ser tan magníficos anfitriones. En un orden práctico añadiré que el desayuno es fabuloso y las habitaciones magníficas.

Sehr schöne location nach altem Styl irgendwie Barock. Aussicht zum Rio Minho und nahe Autobahn Ausfahrt. Hat ein sehr schöner Innengarten mit viel Platz. Die Bodega im Keller auch sehr schön mit den alten Weinfässern. Sehr saubere WCs. Die „Hausherrin“ war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

We had a very warm welcome from Andres and we enjoyed the introduction to his wonderful family home, which has been restored beautifully, and is immaculate. The gardens, grounds and pool are are beautifully kept too, with some very attractive seating areas , in different corners. We enjoyed being there for the local festa, eating at local restaurants, and walking along the banks of the Minho. Cannot finish without mentioning the SPECTACULAR buffet breakfast! We have never seen such a wonderful selection of home made goodies, served in the very elegant dining room! It was a joy and a privilege to visit, and we would love to return on a future visit to the area! Highly recommend!

Numa palavra: extraordinário. À chegada tivemos oportunidade de ter uma visita guiada pelo Andrés, neto dos segundos proprietários de Villa Idalina. A história, contada por ele, tem outro encanto - sabe todos os pormenores, explica tudo, satisfaz as curiosidades, e de repente, sentimos que estamos dentro de um filme ou de uma história. O local é lindo de morrer, e ao conhecermos a sua origem, ganha outro encanto. A Susana, por sua vez, é muito querida, sempre com um sorriso afável para oferecer, sempre disponível para o que precisarmos, não se cansa de perguntar se está tudo bem. Enfim, que pessoa maravilhosa! Está tudo muito bem preservado, a decoração é linda, os elementos fazem sentido juntos e transportam-nos ao início do século XX. Quarto super confortável, vistas lindas, pequeno almoço delicioso, ótimo ambiente. Adoramos a experiência, queremos muito repetir, e vamos recomendar certamente aos nossos amigos e familiares. Muitos parabéns Susana e Andrés pelo vosso trabalho incrível para manter a Villa Idalina encantadora. P.s.: obrigada pelo presente de aniversário! Andreia e Vítor

O Villa Idalina é um palacete extremamente bem conservado. A proprietária teve a amabilidade de orgulhosamente nos fazer uma visita guiada, que adorámos. O quarto era enorme, com uma decoração irrepreensível, de época. De salientar os promenores nas casas de banho, por exemplo (torneiras orginais, bem como estruturas de aquecimento de água). Os espaços comuns são encantadores, dando a sensação que viajámos no tempo. O pequeno-almoço e brunch são muito completos, tendo em conta o tipo de alojamento. Não dou 5 estrelas porque à noite os espaços comuns ficam inacessíveis aos hóspedes e não há sequer uma televisão no quarto, ficando os hóspedes limitados, sem opções de lazer.

Plus qu'une villa, un petit palais. Tout est beau et délicat, tant en extérieur qu'en intérieur. Chaque pièce, chaque détail, chaque chambre nous ravissent les yeux. Et lorsque l'on fait la connaissance de la ravissante et très sympathique maîtresse des lieux on entre dans la belle histoire de ce lieu. N'hésitez pas à monter dans la tour pour découvrir la vue sur le rio. Et profitez le lendemain matin du somptueux petit déjeuner proposé bien sûr dans un cadre magnifique mais avec aussi des produits variés et d'excellente qualité. Un grand bravo et un grand merci aux jeunes propriétaires (espagnols 😊) qui ont fait de ce bijou le projet de leur vie.
