The hotel itself was boutique and quite charming. The food was nice although a wedding party had commandeered most of the common amenities. What was most disappointing was the noise in our room. There was the loud sound of running water all night which meant literally no sleep at all - despite needing to wear noise cancelling headphones which still struggled to block the sound out!! We travel a lot and understand noise sometimes in inevitable but this was known plumbing issues not other guests. Worse still was that management knew of the issues but no-one mentioned anything until we were booking out. Their non disclosure was disappointing and dishonest. We were not able to make an informed choice about our stay. It was entrapment of a deceptive type. When I raised the issue in the morning with management the response I got was “ahh yes we know about that, it is a water pressure issue. You should have let us know and we could have fixed it”. In other words bad luck. No repair or attempt to repair our experience. It was a potential issue they were aware of they should have made us aware as paying guests without trying to have the issue addressed at 1am in the morning. It was hard to get any attention with a wedding taking up so much attention until the early hours of the morning. I feel as if we were misled and taken advantage of. If you cannot get any sleep in hotel everything else is peripheral and unimportant. A bit more upfront transparency and honesty on potential room issues is needed by this hotel to manage expectations. As Marriot Platinum members we are well aware of hotel acceptable minimum standards and are usually quite easy going and low maintance, but no sleep, even though management knows prior of the issues, is not good enough. We would not recommend or stay here again.

Location, staff, room size, room furnishings, floor quality, breakfast and concierge staff were all excellent. After one night, we noticed our room was hotter than the public areas. We asked the front desk for help after we had tried various AC settings without improvement. They reported that a technician took a look and that our AC was operating as it should. It was still too hot. We suffered in the afternoon and evening heat for our 2nd and 3rd nights. No one bothered to ask if the issue had been fixed. What was especially unfair was that the hotel public areas were all adequately air conditioned. It was just our room as far as we could tell. We really wanted to praise this hotel because of all the positives. But if the hotel can air condition the lobby, they should be able to air condition all the rooms.

It is beautiful structure and tastefully decorated. The facilities in the room are great. It was disappointing the restaurant was closed the two days we were there. The breakfast was expensive but lacked quality.

We had a very large room (3.1) on the top floor with a private elevator up there. It had a couch and chairs with a coffee table. The bathroom had a separate jacuzzi tub, wonderful shower, and toilet/bidet room. The only complaint was how dark the lighting in the bathroom was. Their restaurant Ment by Oscar Calleja (one Michelin star) was amazing. We selected the short menu and the wine pairing. We wished we had been hungrier so we could choose the long menu! We liked it so well we had the Mexican themed breakfast one day. We had a recommendation for a great modern tapas bar called Bambu which we would recommend. We also had a fun cocktail bar experience at the Niebla Cocktail Bar.
