Have always struggled to find the perfect venue for an overnight stop between London and The Alps. This charming little hotel ticks all the boxes. Our room was very clean and modern, excellent bathroom, plenty of storage and modern electrics including USB charging. Hotel sits in beautiful gardens with outside seating to make the most of it. Restaurant is very good and great value. The hotel staff are really helpful and welcoming. The village is quiet but if you have time to spare Vitry and Chalons are interesting little towns and are 20 mins away.

Our second visit here and so we made sure to book a room in the hotel rather than the annexe. As they mention, the rooms aren't huge, not helped by the bathroom which is very poorly designed. The bath is enormous, very long and very deep - it could certainly do with being a third shorter to make the room bigger. The toilet is far too close to the wall - there is plenty of room to move it. It's another case of the person who designed it never having to use it. Having said that, the bed was comfortable, it was all very clean and good to see USB charging ports instead of having to struggle with adapters. Dinner last time was excellent, this time it was even better, even though we couldn't sit outside because of the weather. Both food and service were first class. We did have a drink in the new bar first. There was nobody on duty and they didn't respond to the bell as they were out of earshot. Far better to have a buzzer linked to the kitchen or reception. Breakfast the following morning was a bit different unfortunately - a few croissants and two extremely burnt pains au chocolat greeted us. No fresh fruit. A very high-tech fresh orange juice machine that worked intermittently. It was a bit of a let down after such a fabulous dinner. The breakfast room is a bit cramped, but they really do need to improve it. In spite of that, we would go back as it's a useful stopover to/from Calais or Dieppe and has secure parking - if Dieppe is your port, the N road route is very pretty, but extremely slow. Probabaly better to take the autoroute to Rouen which is what we'll do next time.

This was such a pleasant and comfortable overnight stay on our journey home to the UK - a quiet, really nicely-run Logis. We had a very comfortable room, bed and excellent shower. The gardens are pretty and full of birdsong and the staff are very helpful. And the dinner was of a stunning quality (the breakfast perhaps - not so much) which made for a great final meal in France. We enjoyed a lovely pre-dinner glass of white wine out on the garden terrace before dinner in evening sunshine. In all, this was a perfect end-of-the-holiday treat

A good, small hotel - reasonable rooms, good food, very friendly manager who speaks very good English (the staff the evening before seemed less willing to speak anything other than French!). There is also an excellent but small Champagne producer in the village - but note that they are likely to close this year (2024), so hurry if you wish to buy any of their remaining stock. The hotel manager phone them in advance to ensure they were open.

Lovely peaceful overnight Logis stop on our way back from skiing in Tignes. Excellent value room, breakfast and delicious dinner. We were in the annexe opposite as the hotelier wanted to give us a larger room but when we return (a definite!) we would choose to be in the lovely old main building. A great find.

We had a most restful and relaxing few days in this charming hotel, resting amongst their very pretty gardens situated by the side of a river. The food was lovely, and the service was both kindly and efficient. The host was a fund of information about the local area, and could not do enough for us. The room was very comfortable with lovely comfy sheets and pillows. The bathroom was modern with lots of space and we enjoyed the rain shower. I highly recomnend staying at this hotel

Lovely hotel and gardens. Close to all in the Champagne region but set in a quiet location. Rooms are small, our bathroom had been newly renovated but the restaurant always has delicious food, good service and the champagne is cheap! They are adding a lift which will make access to the rooms easier for older people.
