My advice: stay away from Extended Stay America. Back in April 2023, we booked a room at their hotel in Waco, TX for our trip to see the eclipse on Monday, getting a decent rate because we booked so early. Then surprise, surprise, two days ahead of time they cancelled our reservation because of "overbooking".

It reeked of tobacco / smoke but management said they "usually" caught the smokers. Floor nasty. Strange white substance on chairs. Breakfast was your choice of one bar or one stale muffin. The worst hotel experience we've ever had.

When arriving, the person working the desk was asleep. It took me 25 minutes to wake him up and then he gave me attitude to get my room. Several people were waiting in the lobby while I attempted to yell and make noise to wake the guy up behind the counter. I called the company online and they said they would send a security person out to make a round to see what was going on. We never saw that person either. When another worker was at the counter in the morning when I checked out, I let her know what happened. Her response was I’ll let someone know, not even an apology. We will not be staying there again.

What made our trip great, was the front desk person. She always greated the hotel guests with warmth and by name. Gigi is Amazing, and has great customer service, wish all hotels had a Gigi... i would for sure stay again especially if we know Gigi was still there.. We've been on the road 3 months now. In and out of many hotels and is the 3rd to the last we stayed at before we arrive home... But we rate it really high and a must stay at...

This Extended Stay America Suites Waco Woodway has a amazing staff. The front desk staff goes out of their way to make sure all your needs are met. Great stay. Clean. Being on the road a lot I love doing my own cooking.....
