This is the most amazing hotel in our New Zealand trip. Taopo city has a good impression. The hotel is modern in design, the room is very spacious, and the facilities are complete. From the bath to the bedding, they all reflect high-end quality. There is also a swimming pool from low heat. It's a pity that I only stayed for one night. I also want to say that the hotel reception staff is very enthusiastic!

A lovely location let down by its poor standard of cleanliness. After seeing inside the kitchen cupboards, filthy oven dishes I was too scared to actually open the oven! Bug nests , shower fittings nearly ready to fall apart. The pool is disgusting not the same as the pool advertised on the website. So totally disappointing. Definitely not LUXURY accommodation.

This is a great spot to stay. The apartment we had was clean and spacious with a fabulous view across the lake. The beds were comfy and the kitchen and sitting room area had everything we needed. The pool was good and the fitness room, while limited, was okay for a quick workout. A short drive into Taupo for supplies, restaurants, shopping and takeaways and access straight out onto the lakeside walkway for a stroll. You couldn't really ask for much more from a rental. There is no doubt that the star attraction was sitting on the balcony looking out across the lake at sunset.....completely unforgettable

Spectacular location and view but disappointing stay overall. Building management is somewhere between lukewarm and unfriendly. Cleaners that don’t actually clean at all and a building that is well past its prime and in desperate need of a facelift. Beds sag, toilets leak and/or don’t flush, sliding windows that don’t, a lift that looks like it’s from a construction site and a pool in urgent need of resurfacing, water features with no water - such a big let down for close to $1000 a night. Don’t even ask for refills for the coffee pod machine after the first 4 are used- just given directions to the supermarket to purchase some more. A real letdown and not value for money. Many other better hotels available with same beautiful views of the lake which is the only thing going for Sacred Waters.
