What a fantastic place to stay! Literally right on the Lake this accommodation offers everything you need for the perfect stay in Taupo! The accommodation is light, bright and airy and although there were only 3 of us it would comfortably accommodate 5.

Location is great. The hotel its self is getting tired. The bathroom needs updating. Plastic shower cubicle which is small. Paint around toilet flaking off. Light above kitchen not working. That area is very dark. TV quite small, bed ok. View is great - balcony quite small but nice to sit and admire the lake. Air con remote didn’t work, fuse blown - we fixed that to get power on one side of unit to sockets. Ok stay, nice people just needs some modernising especially for the price.

We have stayed here several times and enjoy the location and the rooms are pleasant for our needs but do need updating somewhat. The management staff are willing and helpful overall. For the past stay of 3 nights coffee has been off the menu as the coffee maker simply didn't work. I asked for it to be replaced but instead it was fixed and it did work once but continued to fail for the rest of our stay. While just a small thing it does take the edge off the stay. There was no option for coffee other than use the "pods" in the machine that didn't function so very frustrating. When I check out today I will ask them again to replace the coffee maker in Unit 2 so lets hope anyone reading this review in a few days time who may have been in Unit 2 has a better experience.

3 adults and a 3 years old in the downstairs unit. Friendly staff. Main room great. 2nd bedroom claustrophobic and stuffy especially as the weather was instensely hot. My subjective view is the space would be better used to remove the in room spa pool and upgrade the kitchen and 2nd bedroom but I appreciate that would be expensive and some people might enjoy an in room spa. Kitchen REALLY needs an extractor fan, especially as the pans burn. Pool far too hot to use which was disappointing so really appreciated the proximity to the lake. Suggest take scissors to open grocery packets because there are none, and a light for outside if you want to sit out and read because there isn't one. If we had just been 2 adults and able to eat out it would have been a better experience. I would stay again though despite the glitches. Most spectacular sunset I've seen. No idea why the photos won't upload.
