The pub had a lovely local pub a**osphere. The twin room was adequate. The temperature was nice, and the bathroom and towels were clean. Mattresses weren't the most comfortable, and the tea/coffee provision was very minimalist. It was OK with continental breakfast included. I think it's probably worth £75 - £80 rather than the £94.50 charged

My partner and I had really high hopes for staying here recently after reading the great reviews, we therefore justified paying more for a Superior room, especially as we hadn't had a holiday in years. However, we found the bed was a small double and room quite small for one that is described as superior and didn't match the photos on the website that advertises a superior room. The bathroom only had a shower and wasn't generous on space at all. The tea coffee tray had a fancy coffee machine but this could do with user instructions we felt, but there were only two coffee inserts to use in it anyway, so we only managed to have one coffee each from it once we'd had a go at using it, one of us managed a hot coffee at least. I politely asked a waiter if we were definitely in a superior room, of which he abruptly pointed out that our room had exposed beams, and was set away from the public area, and it has a larger television, rendering it superior, he seemed to want to cease me asking anything further on this, I felt awkward for asking, but it was a lot of money for us to spend on a room of that size with nothing that made it any better than a standard. We were looking forward to a cooked breakfast, however, this wasn't to be either, the hotel offers a continental option of variety pack sized cereals, croissants, yoghurts and fruit or bacon/sausage sandwich, egg on toast, cheese on toast, if we'd have known this, we wouldn't have booked, that was the thing we we're looking forwards to...the puzzling thing is that they pretty much offer all the ingredients of a cooked breakfast but only in sandwich form or on toast, as single items like sausage butty or scrambled egg on toast. We did have an evening meal the night we arrived and although a little expensive, it was cooked to perfection. On return to the hotel after our evening out, my partner went to the hotel bar to ask if its okay to purchase two packets of crisps, at which point a customer who was sat at the bar asked him if he 'was a member?' Whether they were joking or not I can't be sure but it didn't come across as welcoming. We felt deflated by our stay unfortunately as we won't be able to go away for some time now due to finances, this stay was meant to be a treat for us.

Excellent Hotel, great food, beer selection and the staff are all fantastic. I have stayed her on several occasions first in 2022 and this year - the standards are consistently high and I throughly recommend booking the accommodation. The menu is extensive and has great food choices with decent portions - book, as the restaurant and pub does get very busy as it seems to be a favourite with the locals. Can't wait to book again next time business takes me to Wakefield.

Visited the Mews today on the off chance of having lunch without a booking. It was very busy but we were warmly greeted and asked if we’d be happy to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a table. That we were, and we were helped with seats up to the bar, served a drink and given a menu to peruse. As promised we soon had a table. All our meals were absolutely delicious, especially the 2 chosen from the specials board. The 3 guys running the pub were so lovely, chatty and friendly and their service was top notch. Shout out to Sidney, the resident Dog. Very cute. Kept himself to himself unless you encouraged him. A definite added bonus. The Mews is a lovely looking, welcoming pub with a traditional feel. You don’t find too many places like this anymore. Even the car park is well thought out. If I lived closer I’d definitely be a regular. Thanks for a lovely lunch! We will be back.

Lovely place to stay, my room was compact but had everything I needed. Food is excellent, I had a burger and cheesecake - yum! and a lovely bar with a great a**osphere. Staff were lovely and looked out for each other. Really unique décor in the bar too.

The room was comfortable and the staff lovely. Unfortunately we were .located right abo e the bar. Saturday night wasn't too bad as the noise subsided soon after 11.00pm. Sunday night there was a private party until nearly 1.00am!!! A great shame as we thought we would stay there again, but not now.

Fantastic clean quiet room and a very comfortable bed all of the staff are polite and friendly, There are a large selection of real ales and beers to choose from of which the Leeds pale ale was particularly good. All of the food on the menu is excellent with plenty of choice.

The hotel was located in a pleasant residential street. I had a single room which was small but it was very nicely decorated and had everything I needed for a short stay visiting somewhere on business locally. The food in the restaurant was amazing - huge compliments to the chef. It was a Wednesday night and it was absolutely full so I'm guessing it is a popular place to eat out for local residents. You might want to book a table when you book your room as I got the impression I was lucky to get one when I arrived at about 19:45. Because it was so busy it might not be the place for you if you're looking for a quite meal with a friend but if you don't mind a busy pub environment it was a nice place to eat. I didn't catch his name but I'd also like to pay tribute to the guy on front of house who welcomed me, showed me to my room and also seemed to be the only person waiting tables. He did an awesome job whilst still checking that everything was OK and maintaining a bit of a sense of humour. It did take a long time to get seated but that might have been different had I pre-booked. Breakfast was included in the room price and included some basic cooked options as well as cold/continental choices. I will use the hotel again if I need to visit the area in future.
