Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge

The rooms are outdated and in a state of disrepair. AC sounded like an alien spaceship (front desk even agreed after hearing a recording) and woke me up several times while sleeping. The sink filled up and took 15 minutes to drain. I switched rooms due to these issues, and the second room’s toilet could barely flush, and the shower made an extremely loud whirring noise that I’m sure woke up anyone in neighboring rooms. Breakfast starts at 7, not the universal standard of 6, so I missed breakfast every day of my 4 night stay. Also, room service is on-demand only. I could understand that policy if it was 2020 or 2021, but it’s 2024. At this price-point, room service should be the standard unless I put up a Do Not Disturb sign. Front desk was nice, but that is the only positive. Assistant manager tried telling me that the plumbing issues were due to a leak the water department found near the hotel, and refused to let me talk to the manager. I’m not a plumber, but I have enough common sense to know that a slow-draining sink is not caused by an underground water leak. Overall this hotel is a disaster, and you’re better off saving half your money and going to a Motel 6 or Econolodge.

Do not stay here. This hotel does not have running water. The management was negligent in their veiled and very faint effort to alert the hotel guests while trying not to deter unsuspecting incoming guests that an impending water shutoff was to occur. This is the 2nd day with a stoppage of water. The water interruption is not the hotel's fault. The extremely weak attempt at announcing the planned shutoff is their fault. Come on, a piece of paper on the front desk is not enough warning, does not alert incoming guests enroute and does not limit their liability. This hotel deserves a ZERO rating. Never again.

Very nice

We paid more than another hotel close by because it had 8.4, but the mattress was terrible (felt spring) and the pillows are so small. The sofa bed was not great either. Service was nice at night. Breakfast at 7AM is way too late.

Wonderful staff.

Closest hotel to Virginia Horse Center. They know it's for equestrians. Hot breakfast is basic but nice to have. Pool helps for kids. Staff are the NICEST PEOPLE YOU WILL EVER MEET. Several have worked there for years, and they all genuinely appear to be a family. I heard the manager tell a breakfast attendant she loved her after checking in. I heard a hispanic employee teaching his sweet co-workers how to speak Spanish. It's become a home away from home for us at Virginia Horse Center shows for our daughter. With that being said, it needs a little love. The key card system doesn't work. We had to get our keys remade every. single. time. we got back - and we had two rooms with the same issue. Please lordy help this loyal, wonderful employees with a new card system. The finishes need a little love, and the electrical outlets in the bathrooms are frankly terrifying. They need replaced. The hotel was VERY clean and maintained as well as it could be with it's age. Cheers! We'll be back.

Convenient but more sound proofing would be an improvement. Coffee/hot cocoa bar and free breakfast was a Plus. Everyone was amazed at the ‘no touch’ pancake maker too!
