We have stayed in the hotel before because it’s a great location, clean, and just exactly what we need. On this occasion we were upgraded to an apartment on the 11th floor.
We always book a twin room and are often put in an accessible room which is very large and spacious so it was good to be upgraded to an apartment so we could compare.
The apartment was smaller than we expected and the bedroom wasn’t big enough for our cases so we had to store them in the lounge but it was really nice to have a separate area with sofa so we could sit and watch tv. The view was blocked by a wall in front of both windows which was a little disappointing as we could have seen for miles from being so high up so we didn’t have a view at all. All in all it was good to be upgraded but in all honesty we prefer the regular twin room or the accessible twin room as they are more spacious with lovely views. All have adequate kitchens with facilities to cook and store food.

Good value stay in this well-located capsule-style hotel. Right in the centre of Bethnal Green near the tube station, bus stop, museums, York Hall leisure centre, and various restaurants. Felt fairly safe for a lone female traveller. The compact Queen room was small, as expected, but well designed and did not feel too claustrophobic for one person. The bathroom was nicely decorated, clean and warm. Large TV with various apps (login required). Nespresso machine but no kettle or fridge. The room (on the third floor) looked straight out to the railway line and restaurants under the arches, but the soundproofing was excellent and the blackout blind seemed effective so I had a good night's sleep. Staff were helpful (providing me with a knife and fork to eat a takeaway, for example) but the self-check in/out was unnecessarily complicated, which meant the staff felt they had to be on hand to help guide you through it all the time anyway! Breakfast was included in my room rate but was a little disappointing - no decaffeinated coffee or herbal teabags, fairly limited hot food (bacon, scrambled eggs, beans and hash browns). However the pastries, cereals and so on looked good. Would stay again if a good price was available.

Room and bathroom were big and fairly modern however details like towel rails and toilet roll holder in the bathroom (non-existing) and a full-sized mirror in the bedroom (only a a tiny one) had been overlooked and would have been nice. The bathroom toiletries advertised were a half empty hand wash bottle on the basin and a half empty shower gel bottle in the shower. A private kitchen was also advertised as included, not sure what they meant by private as someone was using it (I didn't), perhaps they just meant people couldn't just walk in from the street and use it. On arrival, room and bathroom weren't overly clean and there was no cleaning at all during my stay. The room was on the main road and the traffic noise went on till very late and started again very early in the morning. Really hard to sleep. An altogether disappointing experience

Such a Great Location & the Staff is Amazing! It’s located right next to Kings Cross & Coal Drop Yards which is convenient. Check in is simple & they even let you leave your luggage for free if you get their early & after your check out. The staff is so kind, to the front desk, Maintenance, Cleaning Crew & Management. I love how the beds you can change the color of the Lighting. There are plugs for your phone & a locker to store your stuff. Also a bar to hang socks or a Towel. They have a huge lounge area where you can chill or work & a kitchen. Pretty big kitchen, great way to save $ while traveling! Bathrooms are always clean & always hot water. They have events throughout the week which is great for connecting with new people. You can tell the staff is like family here & genuine souls! Definitely suggest checking out this Hostel when traveling to London! My next trip into London, I’ll definitely be staying here. 💚

Loved it! Highly recommend. Super easy to get into town on DLR, and amazing breakfast. Lovely to watch swimmers go past. Staff really lovely and very helpful. Am booking to go again. Rooms not vast, but not too small and absolutely fine (shared a twin room with a pal).

Quick check in and check out, friendly staff. Smaller room than expected, was assigned the top deck which wasn’t pleasant as had to climb up and down and couldn’t sit straight due to low ceiling. Room was extremely stuffy and warm, and door was creaky. Locker was kinda broken and couldn’t be closed fully / locked, wouldn’t slide smoothly and could only drag it across the carpet floor with much difficulty. Thankfully each bed came with its own reading light and power socket. Can only say you get what you pay for, the low price was unbeatable. Suitable for backpackers for a night or two, but not for those with loads of luggage.

The hotel is next to the Greenwich Metro station and the bus stop is in front. A pleasant place, we always feel safe. The next has several restaurants. The hotel is new, excellent breakfast, with a variety of varieties. The hotel was very good, and my wife and our 12-year-old daughter were in a bed with Queen bed and a single bed/sofa. Big bathroom with bathroom.
Great care is taken to ensure guests experience comfort through top-notch services and amenities. Parking is accessible, supplied by the hotel for guests who arrive by car.The hotel is completely smoke-free. Each morning at Travelodge London Greenwich High Road, a scrumptious, homemade breakfast kick-starts the day. For us the hotel was quite good. We were there 3 nights.
Greenwich station is less than 2 minutes away and takes you to the centre.
Overall the hotel was clean.
The staff was nice.
Unfortunately, the breakfast does not offer a large selection. I was missing more vegetables and more cold cuts like cheese or similar. My son was happy with the pancakes. When an adult pays for breakfast, a child eats free ( £8.99 ).
The area wasn't so special now. 10 min walk and you will arrive at Cutty Sark.
Unfortunately everything was completely closed on Christmas Day, including public transport. That's why we only went for a walk near the hotel that day.
The rooms aren't that big, but you only sleep in them and don't stay in them for too long. Unfortunately, the pillows were too hard for us. We are stomach sleepers and our heads were too high. We didn't feel comfortable without it, so we slept with it and this led to back pain. But that's complaining on a high level, because everyone likes pillows, blankets and mattresses differently and in their own way.
There are supermarkets nearby. We always go to the Tesco which is 10 minutes away and bought water and snacks for the evening.
We would book the hotel again, in contrast to other hotels, it was inexpensive and yet clean and safe.

Excellent
GGuest UserI travel every week on business and have stayed in many many different hotels, both independent and chain Most Holiday Inns are better than they used to be a few years ago in my opinion. But definitely worth noting the staff at this one are particularly helpful. One in particular - Idris. Is the most helpful and friendly person I’ve met in a long time. Nothing is too much trouble and he goes beyond the call of duty to make your stay enjoyable
GGuest UserWe always stay at the Lion & Key when we visit London and have been fortunate enough to stay here again in October, December, and also January for my husbands 80th birthday. This really is the ”Savoy” of the small hotels in London and we always know without fail, we will have the most perfect stay. All the staff genuinely care about their guests having the best experience and you cannot fault the care and attention to detail that this hotel takes to ensure an excellent customer experience. They have a great team of which we would like to thank Giorgio, Kanti and Stephania for making all our visits a home away from home. The rooms and also public areas in the hotel are kept pristinely clean and are bright and cheerful. I love the attention to detail this hotel has even with the smallest thing. i.e. the shower cap in the bathroom also has a small hairband in the box ,which is excellent if you have long hair and can’t find your own! The beds are also extremely comfortable and we both always have an excellent night sleep. We love the open kitchen where you can see all the food being freshly prepared and cooked to order. They are very generous with their breakfast time which doesn’t end until 12 o’clock lunchtime. The choice and range that they offer in their restaurant, regardless of breakfast or main meals throughout the day would accommodate even the most fussiest eaters, which I am, but even I am extremely spoilt for choice as the breakfast menu is so comprehensive. The quality of the ingredients used in the restaurant is first class and so is the time and care in presentation which also reflects the pride that they take. We can honestly say that the breakfast’s we have at the L&K are the most tastiest, freshest, consistently perfect breakfast’s we have ever had and far exceed the quality that we have experienced over the years in 4 & 5 star hotels. To be honest, we often wonder how they continuously provide such care and attention to detail for the customer, even more so since Covid as many many hotels and restaurants seem to still use this as an excuse for a less than perfect service or menu range. We must’ve had over 100 of breakfasts since we have been coming here in 2018 and the eggs are always perfectly cooked with a lovely orange yolk, regardless of whether it’s a normal full English breakfast, or my husbands favorite the Egg Royale. We very rarely eat sausages or bacon at home, but the quality and taste of the ones here are amazing, so we always, always enjoy our breakfast which set us up for exploring all day. The transport links to this hotel are excellent as well. There are four buses that go past the hotel to Leyton underground, one of which is running 24 hours and they seem to come by every few minutes. Stratford is only four stops from Leyton so excellent connections for overground, DLR, O2 etc. Liverpool Street is the next stop along for even more connections so the location we find is a great asset to wherever we
