Wangaratta Caravan Park

Property was not cleaned properly and dirty; 1 .Shower had hair in it. 2. Freezer was dirty. 3. PowerPoint switches broken. 4. Cutlery and dishes dirty. 5. No liquid to wash dishes. 6. Microwave was dirty.

We stayed in a cabin which was ok but was suppose to have WIFI, it didn't have WIFI. I went to the office and told them I didn't have WIFI, showed them the phone and she said there it is. Went back to cabin and no WIFI. I think the lady knew the cabin was out of the WIFI range, so was not impressed. The cabin was clean.

I had been unpowered solo tent camping though SE Vic (phillip Island to Mallacootaand up over the mountains), for the previous 6 nights. I arrived and asked for an unpowered site, I was informed that they only had powered sites. I said "ok, I just need a patch of grass enough for my tent my car and my chair". First of all I was charged $40 for the night (the most expensive nights accommodation so far) then I was given a map to my allocated site. The site I was allocated for my tent was extremely uneven! Anyone who has slept on the ground knows that a sloped patch is quite uncomfortable. Then i looked at the map i was given and it clearly states 2 separate unpowered camping sites. Which I what I requested at check in!!! And then as if my time was not disturbed enough, the site I was allocated was right across from the amenities block, which normally wouldn't be an issue exept the exhaust fan came on at 0300 for 30mins if not more. So here I am in a tent on uneven sloped ground, on a powered site (completely unnecessary) next to an amenities block with the exhaust fan going at 3am. Expensive, sloping and noisy Not reccomend

After checking in we were less than impressed. The cabin was dated and did not smell the best, decided that after 6 hours driving we would stay, big mistake. The park had been under water I was later told hence the smell. We did ask if there was anything better, no not really only a family cabin. Poured a couple of drinks and went to the pool area, our mistake and it was a mistake we took a wine glass into the pool area. Before we knew it we had a person hurling abuse at us, instead of saying please folks no glass in the pool area which we agree with, we left the pool area immediately. He continued his abuse saying we were nothing but two bob millionaires, told if you don't like it get out. That was it, went to the office and asked for a refund from the other owner his wife. He was nowhere to be seen left her to deal with the situation, that is the type he is, his wife was so upset we felt sorry for her. Went to another caravan park in town for a cabin which will be reviewed in a positive way in the next review.
