RIYUE Bay ROOTS Guesthouse

One of the best home stays/hostels I've ever stayed at. The host is so nice and friendly. He rented his short and long boards to me for a very fair price, we went out surfing together most mornings. He is always around to help you if you need help. His English is good enough! And his wife is also super friendly and also speaks English! He recommended me where to rent a scooter. & There were some other solo travelers so it's nice to make friends. It's really good vibes and I will definitely stay here again next time I come!

A great place that you'll want to return to. Very welcoming atmosphere, nice people around. They will always help you and give you advice if you don't know something — something that is especially appreciated by foreigners in China.

This was probably the best accommodation experience we've had in a while! It's great for solo, couples, families, and groups! The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful showing us around and providing local tips and knowledge on surfing! The hosts will go above and beyond to meet your needs! We could not have asked for a better experience! The location was also great as it was away from the busy roads so you can get a peaceful night sleep. Since we didn't have local numbers, we couldn't register to rent the "rent as you go" scooters. I wish the homeowners had some scooter rentals available, because we ended up spending a lot of time going around town looking for scooters. But honestly, this was such a minor issue and was only a concern since we had a short trip and was tight on time. Absolutely would encourage everyone to book this place if they are indecisive on where to stay in RiYueWan!

I highly recommend this place if you want to experience surfing in Hainan. The owner is very friendly, speaks English, and will be there to help you.

Come for the surf, stay for auntie Liu’s dumplings ❤️. Everything is v clean and homey and the atmosphere is perfect for getting remote work done. I stayed at another home stay in Riyue which was more expensive with no life 😒 - wish I had come to Roots sooner. Auntie Liu is the best, she will take good care of you。 Although i came to just surf/work and my Chinese is quite poor, i was able to make a lot of new friends as a solo traveler which was quite unexpected! The boss can also help you with surfing ~ I will definitely be back soon

A Hidden Gem with Amazing Vibes This place is truly beautiful, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The boss is incredibly friendly and open — it’s so easy to have a genuine conversation with them. Everyone I met there was kind and pleasant, which made the whole experience even better. The overall vibes are super comfortable and relaxed. Definitely a spot I’d love to visit again 一个藏在角落里的宝藏之地 这个地方真的很漂亮，整体氛围非常温馨和放松。设施特别新也特别干净，给人一种很舒服、很安心的感觉。老板非常友好、健谈，跟他聊天特别自然舒服。在那里遇到的人也都非常好，亲切又有礼貌，让整个体验变得更加美好。整体的感觉就是轻松自在，让人忍不住想再来一次
