Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Azura. The office and poolside dining staff could not have been nicer, and the same goes for Darrin and his team of friendly, knowledgeable taxi drivers who provided us with transportation throughout our visit. Thanks to the staff for making reservations with Darrin whenever we needed a taxi. Our Ocean View room had an elegant color palette and modern decor except for the bed frame which seemed dated, however, the mattress was very comfortable. The aqua fabric on a long luggage bench at the end of the bed was quite soiled... the wrong fabric choice and too light a color to be practical. The bathroom was spacious and modern with two large sinks and an open shower that did not flood the floor... always a plus. There was only one towel bar that held fresh towels, but nowhere to hang damp towels for reuse. Construction of the indoor restaurant is ongoing. A very limited poolside menu was presented for breakfast and lunch/dinner, and several of the listed options were not available at each meal. After eating two or three times at Azura, we chose to go elsewhere except for breakfast on departure day... and even then we learned that the restaurant's coffee machine was broken, no fresh fruit was available, and a sliced avocado was so past its prime/black, it was surprising that it was served. My husband walked to the nearby glorified gas station to get his morning coffee (and said it was quite good). Azura's physical setting is absolutely glorious and there is much potential for it to be a first class hotel if they can work out the kinks. For now, it is not ready for prime time.
