The Line hotel has the prices of a five-star hotel but the overall quality of a second rate motel. Its main virtue is its location for those who need a hotel in that area. The hotel is in desperate need of a makeover. 1. The furniture in the room was filled with nicks and scratches. 2. The fixtures are all outdated. The metal hardware in the sink was corroded. The shower head was as if it were from another era. 3. The lighting in the room was cold and inadequate. 4. The door handle fell off the closet when we opened it. 5. The only chair in the room was a desk chair. There was no other place in the room to sit. 6. We had booked a room for two. However, there was only one umbrella and one robe in the room. We obtained another umbrella at the front desk as it was raining. We asked for another robe to be sent to the room, but it never showed up. 7. The hotel was not transparent in its listing of room prices on its website. There was an additional $27 amenities fee added to the stated room price (even though we used none of the amenities). Yes, it was in the fine print, but the room cost posted on the website should include. 8. The total for two nights in the most basic of its rooms came to $1324 (including tax and amenity fees). 9. The hotel required a $150 per day security deposit. We have never encountered anything like that in all of our other hotel stays.
