The Line is my hotel of choice when in DC. It's unique, spacious, elegant and hails of a bygone era of hotel culture where other guests greet each other as neighbors, not strangers. I love it. Will say this time 3 times out of 4 the front desk wasn't as warm as they normally are. Except for check in, they all but ignored guests, which is odd for a hospitality business. Let's just hope that was a snag. Otherwise, lovely hotel, restaurant, coffee shop. (The 2 dinners I had there were delicious! Reco staying in & enjoying the beautiful lobby & divine food.)

This was the first time we stayed at this hotel. The room was not the typical hotel room which we found refreshing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were able to park our car at the hotel and they charged it for us overnight. They have a great gym. The only problem we had was with the shower door which allowed water to get all over the floor., which was a mild inconvenience. I reported this to the front desk as well as the cleaning person. It was not fixed while we were there, but the staff was very apologetic and explained why they could not fix it immediately. They offered us another room, but since we were only staying two nights it was not worth the hassle. All in all I would stay here again..

The hotel has great character (I believe it is an old converted church). The mix of old charm and updated amenities made my (business) stay enjoyable. Amazing water pressure! Tons of restaurants and coffee houses within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!

The Line hotel has the prices of a five-star hotel but the overall quality of a second rate motel. Its main virtue is its location for those who need a hotel in that area. The hotel is in desperate need of a makeover. 1. The furniture in the room was filled with nicks and scratches. 2. The fixtures are all outdated. The metal hardware in the sink was corroded. The shower head was as if it were from another era. 3. The lighting in the room was cold and inadequate. 4. The door handle fell off the closet when we opened it. 5. The only chair in the room was a desk chair. There was no other place in the room to sit. 6. We had booked a room for two. However, there was only one umbrella and one robe in the room. We obtained another umbrella at the front desk as it was raining. We asked for another robe to be sent to the room, but it never showed up. 7. The hotel was not transparent in its listing of room prices on its website. There was an additional $27 amenities fee added to the stated room price (even though we used none of the amenities). Yes, it was in the fine print, but the room cost posted on the website should include. 8. The total for two nights in the most basic of its rooms came to $1324 (including tax and amenity fees). 9. The hotel required a $150 per day security deposit. We have never encountered anything like that in all of our other hotel stays.

I stay at the LINE LA almost every 6 weeks for the last 9 years and had never had a single complaint! The DC Line rooms are poorly kept up, receptionist are almost borderline rude, restaurant staff is mediocre and are not well versed in their jobs. Aziz

Felt like an unmanaged hotel. Poor service. No friendliness. Fees for parking given the service provided (which was terrible) was insane. Had stayed a few times. Will not stay again.

The large common area serves as coffeehouse, bar, and restaurant. People come and sit all day. It’s incredibly festive, like a town square.
