The room and towels had an unpleasant smell. A couple of towels were stained. After room service, a couple of used towels were left in the bathroom.

If you're looking for a hotel room that feels like home, look no further! Residence Inn by Marriott lives up to its name. A spacious room with comfortable beds, and a full kitchen, not just a kitchenette with a microwave oven and some plates and silverware. (My only quibble: no electric kettle, just a small tea/coffeemaker. Putting kettles in the rooms would definitely be an improvement.) Excellent location and the CVS next door is very convenient. Lastly, the service was incredibly friendly and efficient. The staff was totally understanding when I had to check out late for work reasons (I asked to push the checkout from noon to 1 but ended up leaving at 1:30 or so; I even offered to pay for the late checkout but they wouldn't hear of it). Definitely want to stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at the Residence Inn. Right when we checked in, we were warmly greeted by Anna P. who helped us throughout our stay. She went out of her way to help us figure out logistics around DC and her personal touch made things feel like home in the midst of all the craziness of downtown DC. Our room was updated and nice as well and the hotel has a great location. We will definitely be staying here again!

5 stars to Residence Inn Washington DC Downtown for last minute customer service recovery! We had a long-planned family trip to DC with our excursions surrounding the Res Inn DC DT. We received an e-mail during our flight that our room wasn’t available. Apparently the vendor renovating an entire floor of the hotel couldn’t finish by the promise date that day and a bunch of guests were cancelled last minute. We were rebooked at another area Res Inn which didn’t work out. The assistant manager Rose graciously arranged a relocation to another nearby Marriott property which ended up working out perfectly. Thank you Rose!

Every one in the hotel was great but Elaine goes the extra mile with her hospitality and hard work. She’s non stop, making sure all guest feel special. Excellent service Elaine!
