Pros: Great location. 5 minute walk to Watkins Glenn State Park, Seneca Lake, Captain Bills Cruises. Clean rooms, very warm clean pool, security all outside doors locked only keys to customers. Staff was very accommodating. Cons: No coffee maker in room, AC did not work well, rooms are clean, but outdated. Only 1 free outlet to charge two phones. Big Con: No Wife, or internet reception. Still for the price point and location, I would recommend to people on a budget.

We grew up in the Watkins Glen area so were not looking to be 'tourists', we were visiting a relative. We had planned to only stay one night. We had a hard time finding a place that wasn't "2 night minimum". Finally found this place for what, in that area, seemed a reasonable rate. The lady checking us in was very pleasant. That's the good. Now the down side. This is an OLD motel. It was old when were lived there as kids. It is 2 stories with an outside stairs. We are ladies in our 60's. We had been traveling for a week, so had good sized suitcases. Getting them up the stairs and down the balconies, past chairs was ... difficult. Hindsight - we would have just taken out what we needed. The room was clean. The chair in the room had a huge stain on the front. The bathroom was very small. Breakfast was bagels. Coffee was okay. Quaint would be a word, I guess. $165 for what we got? What happens when there is no competition. Thank you to the manager for trying the 1 night offer. We appreciated that.

We had the 'suite' room 134. The room was clean and large with a comfortable king-sized bed. The bathroom was fair. There was no coffee maker in the room, nor did they supply Kleenex. We chose this for the location as it is in the main downtown area. The traffic noise could be an issue for some people. We originally planned an overnight Saturday stay. We were told that they had a minimum two-night stay so we decided we would stay both Saturday night and added Sunday night (at an overly pricey; just shy of $500 for the two nights). They have a small breakfast offering of coffee and bagels and a couple of other things, but the problem is they don't start it until 8am on the weekend and 9am on weekdays. I was forced to get my morning coffee from around the corner for an additional $4 (it's not the $$ but why would you not have the breakfast offering by 7am?). Now here is the really WEIRD THING. THE POOL RULES! First off, the indoor pool is only open from 1pm to 8pm - so if you have kids that like to swim don't stay here! Secondly, you have to go to the front desk and ask them to let you into the pool area (you can't just go there with your key and let yourself in). On Sunday evening it started to rain so my wife and I decided to go to the pool and have a drink before it closed at 8pm. We went to the front desk with our Yeti's filled with our favorite cocktail and asked to be let into the pool area. The older lady looked at our drinks in our hands and said, "you can't bring drinks to the pool area". I said, "why not, we've never been told at any hotel or VRBO that we have stayed at that you can't bring a drink to the pool. She actually responded by saying "your drink could contaminate the pool". I told her' "that's ridiculous"!! We turned to go back to our room, and she said "well, that's her rules". By her, I guess she meant the owner.

My husband & I went for NASCAR weekend. Selected this motel to stay one night. There are 3-4 women who work the front desk. They are all very very nice, except for the oldest bully one who is also the owner/manager (found out later). The first room we were given smelled terribly of pee, the whole bedroom. It was disgusting & downright depressing. So we went to the front desk to ask for another room. A Very nice lady came down to give us the adjacent room. We moved all our stuff from the 1st room to this new room. Settled in. Went to the bathroom & sink was completely blocked. Went again to the front desk. The bully lady says to me- ‘So first you wanted a different room and now YOU have a problem with the other room as well?’ . Wow. She sounded very disturbed and angry at being told that her rooms were having problems. The bully lady & another woman came to our room and tried to fix the sink. It started draining slowly. Bully lady made few more snide remarks and left. Then we used the toilet. When you sat on the toilet, the whole toilet shook and moved from side to side and mage a huge sound. Felt like you would fall down along with the toilet, while in the middle of ur business!! It was so scary! And the tank wouldn’t fill up!!! We went back to the bully lady. She came to our room and said- ‘did you touch it? How is it not filling’ Bully lady is something else. Then she tried to fix the tank, my husband figured out a way with the main valve (all this after paying 185$ a night). And she said well yeah, we can’t do anything about the ‘shaky’ toilet. And She left. We tried not to let our moods ruined and left to walk around town and grab dinner. These ladies leave at 8:30pm and they sounded as if there is no help or plumber after they leave. When we came back to our room at 10pm, our sink was completely blocked. The toilet shook even harder when you sat on it and the tank wasn’t filling up. Everytime my husband had to come & move the valve a certain way for it to fill. And it felt like it would get blocked anytime! We didn’t call the front desk because we didn’t want to disturb the old ladies. I felt bad calling them at this time of the night. Imagine brushing your teeth in that blocked sink that didn’t drain for half hour. It was disgusting. The next morning was traumatic again because of the state of the bathroom. They tell you that they have complimentary coffee & breakfast but it starts at 9am. Can you believe that? It should start at 6 or 6:30. At 9am when we went to return the keys & check out, my husband told the older bully lady that we should get a refund because your bathroom is broken and our stay was horrible. Omg guess what she said- she said you are lying because ‘we’ fixed it when we came to your room last evening!!! Never in the history of our lives hve we had such a terrible experience at a hotel/motel. Even the Motel 6 have better service than this. Imagine the owner being so delusional that she refuses to accept a feedback and mak

My daughter and I stayed for three nights this week in the motel and it was a huge disappointment. First, we were not given the advertised discount of stay 2 nights, get one for reduced rate due to Columbus Day. (Lame reason.) We paid $150 a night and the rooms were so old, worn out and dirty. We could barely close the bathroom door, it was so tiny. There was no fan in the bathroom and a very dim light. There was no coffee maker of any sort and the coffee offered in the morning at the extremely limited breakfast was so weak you could see through it. There were barely any outlets to plug things in, but they offered a power ***** dangling from an old outlet. The flooring was buckling and the carpet was old and filthy. They had one bar of soap, one towelette and one little bottle of shampoo. We had to use the soap at the sink and in the shower for three days for two people. Outside of our room there were spiders everywhere in the walkway. The beds were comfortable and the location is good. That is pretty much all I can say that was good about it.

The amenities were disappointing to say the least. The Motel section at least where we stayed is very aged, and it looked it. The price was outrageous considering the amenities. Toilet that barely flushed (scared to backup or overflow), the sound alone would wake the neighborhood. Bulbs above sink burned out. Blow dryer that was unserviceable. Toiletries and towels for 1, not 2 adults. Pathetic. Asked for extra pillows when booked, not there. Glad I brought my own extras. Continental breakfast was a joke. To top it off, my wife ran into a health emergency on day 2 of 3. We had to leave on day 2, never stayed. Checked out on day 3 and asked for refund of that day if anything, DENIED. I realize there are cancellation policies, but for good faith and hopes of a return customer, and just doing the right thing, we were shot down. Greed over Good to say the least. The only positive is for the sake of the staff: who despite working in a dump were very nice, cordial and considerate, and doing their best with what they have to work with. They can find better as well. Good luck to them!

We rented a room at the Glen Manor House in Watkins Glen, NY which is located on the property of the Villager Hotel. Owner/Manager gave us a golf cart ride to the Manor from the hotel and gave us our keys. She then showed us around the entire Manor, showing us how to operate the air conditioning unit, the location of kitchen and bathroom items and all else we might need. I was given several numbers to call if I needed to reach someone. She was very friendly and helpful. Manor itself is a beautifully restored, clean with period-dated decor. It is in downtown Watkins Glen within walking distance to restaurants and shops and only a mile from Watkins Glen State Park and the Gorge hiking trail. Parking was onsite.
