We had a lovely stay. Very friendly staff, beautiful location. Comfortable, big room. Unfortunately, our view was blocked by a wooden fence. Not a major issue, as we spent a lot of time at the Grillroom restaurant and the Pizza place onsite. My only complaints relate to The Grillroom Restaurant. Both nights we were there, certain menu items were unavailable. I can understand that it could be difficult to cater for everything, especially during the week. However, then they should give less options and ensure everything is available. The first morning we arrived for breakfast around 9:15. Even though they said BF would be available till 10, they started clearing the buffet as we walked in. We then ordered from the menu, which was good but the portions were quite small. Especially the health breakfast. The last complaint was the fact that they ran out of red wine. We couldn't do a wine tasting, and couldn't even order red wine with dinner! On a wine farm....?

Stayed in the so-called Presidential suite, but really nothing Presidential about it. Furniture is old and outdated and the facilities very limited. The spa bath was not working and the WiFi non-existent. The suite is in close proximity to the labour houses on the farm and music was playing loud until very late at night. The views from the suite towards the mountain is breathtaking, but overal disappointment, especially considering the price you pay.

Superb location, venue and team at Val Du Charron. A great place to begin a holiday after a long flight. The food and wine were excellent and the team were full of joy, a credit to all. We are slowly sampling the wines, remembering the information on our road trip.

Set in a beautiful valley outside Wellington, this very peaceful and un assuming wine farm is a perfect place to relax, unwind while gazing on beautiful views and enjoying fantastic meals at the two on-site restaurants, The Grillroom and Pizza Vista. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Front rooms have fantastic views over the valley and mountains. A great compliment to this place are the very friendly staff all very eager to help.

We simply loved the place. We enjoyed the Spa treatment and the fine dining at the Grill Room and the delicious pizza's at the pizza vista. We enjoyed the overall experience and have recommended it to our friends and family.

Second visit for us, this time in the guest house. It's a great location, the rooms are good and modern but we could clearly hear the people in the next room. The room rate for this area is great value. It's an ideal place to stay if you want to taste some wine, walk (great walk at Welvenpas) or mountain bike (trails start at Val Du Charron). We thought the food in the grill room was a bit average. All of the staff were super friendly and that made up for some of the downsides.

The place had a lovely ambiance and was very neat. The view was stunning and the room was beautiful and clean. We slept really well. Will recommend Val du Charron to all our friends. Last but not least the staff were very friendly and helpful, well done !

Toilet flushes in room 7 - but does not flush down toilet paper and so sits in the bowl the whole time.. Restaurant service VERY slow in both grill room and pizza place but food quality was very good.
